  • Kenneth Faried hits 9-of-10 shots vs. Lakers
Kenneth Faried hit 9-of-10 shots for 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal in Tuesday's 127-121 win over the Lakers.

Advice: Faried has been all over the place for most of his career and even left this game to have his back looked at, but soon returned. He's starting and rolling right now, averaging 18.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals on an amazing 25-of-30 shooting over his last three games. More shots at the rim please! Faried has carved out a spot in the starting lineup going forward and even though he was helped by the absence of Darrell Arthur (knee) tonight, Faried looks like a must-start in all formats right now. • Ivica Zubac scores 11 w/ 13 boards, 3 blocks
Ivica Zubac had multiple career highs on Tuesday vs. the Nuggets with 11 points (5-of-11 FGs), 13 rebounds and three blocks in 26 minutes.

Advice: He also added one steal and one assist and sparked a comeback attempt that fell just short. The rookie was very impressive during the summer league and he's been lighting it up in the D-League as well, and coach Luke Walton has been talking about finding him more minutes. Zubac made just 10 brief appearances prior to Tuesday, but he should get a lot more opportunities to play in the second half of the season with the Lakers sitting in 14th place in the West with a 15-30 record. He looks like a great stash for the second half of the season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:04 pm
  • Nikola Jokic racks up 29 points, 15 rebounds
Nikola Jokic stayed red hot on Tuesday, racking up 29 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks and a 3-pointer on 12-of-22 shooting in a 127-121 win over the Lakers.

Advice: The Lakers are pretty bad against opposing bigs and Jokic took advantage tonight. He's absolutely crushing right now, scoring 29 and 30 points in each of his last two games, and averaging 25 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 3-pointers over his last five games, while shooting a ridiculous 65 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the line. He might be the most underrated fantasy player in the land right now. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:59 pm
  • Tarik Black (left ankle) plays well Tuesday
Tarik Black (left ankle) played well on Tuesday, scoring 14 points with eight rebounds and a block in 20 minutes vs. the Nuggets.

Advice: He was averaging just 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 16.0 minutes in his previous nine January games, so it's hard not to call this a fluke. Coach Luke Walton likes to ride the hot hand off the bench and Black had it tonight, finishing 7-of-13 from the field. As impressive as this was, Black can be left on the wire in most leagues unless he does this again. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:56 pm
  • Kenneth Faried (back) returns to game
Kenneth Faried (back) has returned to Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers.

Advice: He was considered questionable to return after leaving the game in the third quarter due to tightness in his lower back, but he appears to be fine out there. We'll have another update after the game. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:24 pm
  • Gorgui Dieng blocks four shots in loss
Gorgui Dieng racked up 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and four blocks against the Spurs on Tuesday.

Advice: He only played 29 minutes because coach Tom Thibodeau is starting to have more trust in Nemanja Bjelica due to his ability to stretch the floor late in games. However, Dieng is still producing at a high level and was coming off a 21-point game on Sunday. The presence of Bjelica is annoying, but Dieng's owners shouldn't be too concerned. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:58 pm
  • Willie Reed scores 2 points in 16 minutes
Willie Reed returned from a chest injury on Tuesday and hit 1-of-3 shots for two points and six rebounds in 16 minutes of a win over the Rockets.

Advice: He was all the fantasy rage when Hassan Whiteside was out with an eye injury, but Whiteside is back and had 14 points and 15 rebounds tonight, rendering Reed useless. At least for now. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:23 pm
  • Brook Lopez scores 28, tweaks right ankle
Brook Lopez scored 28 points in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors, but appeared to roll his right ankle in the fourth quarter.

Advice: Lopez had a slight limp on the next couple plays, but he was moving better and better as the fourth quarter progressed. There's a chance that his ankle will swell up on him overnight, but luckily he gets a few days of rest before Friday's game vs. the Pelicans. Lopez added eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks on 11-of-23 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 from the line. If you're in a deep league, handcuffing him with Justin Hamilton isn't a bad idea. For what it's worth, Lopez said he felt "fine" after the game. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:02 pm
  • Tarik Black (left ankle) is available
Tarik Black (left ankle) is available for Tuesday's game vs. Denver.

Advice: He's averaging 15.8 minutes over his last five games, so he shouldn't be on most fantasy rosters. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:55 pm
  • Nogueira (blurred vision) done for night
Lucas Nogueira (blurred vision) will not return to Tuesday's game vs. the Nets.

Advice: He has blurred vision in his left eye and will be re-evaluated again after the game. He was also being evaluated for a concussion, but we should know more about that soon. Paskal Siakam started the second half and Jakop Poeltl could play a bit more as well. Bebe finished with three points (a trey) and two rebounds in seven minutes. There are no great speculative pickups here. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:50 pm
  • Lucas Nogueira (head) goes to locker room
Lucas Nogueira was playing well Tuesday before taking a hard forearm to the face, which caused him to leave the game and head to the locker room.

Advice: He is undergoing the concussion protocol in the locker room, so hopefully we'll know more very soon. He easily walked off under his own power and looked OK, but don't make any roster moves until we know more. He had three points (a trey) and two rebounds in seven minutes before heading for the locker room. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:00 pm
  • Brook Lopez is starting for the Nets Tuesday
Brook Lopez, who got the day off on Sunday for rest, is starting for the Nets on Tuesday.

Advice: He's good to go and should have a decent matchup against the Raptors tonight. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:29 pm
  • Steven Adams (concussion) out Wednesday
Updating a previous report, Steven Adams has officially been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Warriors.

Advice: He's still going through the league mandated concussion protocol testing, and he won't be able to return until he clears all the necessary steps. Because the Warriors like to play small, Jerami Grant could be looking at another start sans Adams, and Enes Kanter should see his minutes closer to the 30-minute mark. After Wednesday, the Thunder don't play again until Monday vs. the Jazz, so this might only end up being a two-game absence for Adams. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:57 pm
  • Ryan Anderson (illness) ruled out for Tuesday
Ryan Anderson (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Heat.

Advice: Corey Brewer will move into the starting five sans Anderson, with Trevor Ariza shifting over to the four-spot, and both James Harden and Eric Gordon will see an uptick to their respective usage rates. Tuesday will be the first game of a back-to-back set, so Anderson doesn't have much time to rest up for Wednesday's game against the Bucks. For now we'll be considering him questionable, and his owners will need to check back for another update closer to Wednesday's tip. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:04 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) out Wednesday vs. DET
Mike Muscala (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.

Advice: Muscala's minutes will likely be divvied up between Kris Humphries and Mike Scott, but neither of those guys will get enough run to matter in most settings while Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard are healthy. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:42 pm
  • Steven Adams listed as out for Wednesday
Steven Adams (concussion) is being listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Warriors.

Advice: To be clear, this report is coming from the game notes, which are notoriously unreliable, so we'd recommend checking back for another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround. Jerami Grant got the start in his place on Monday night vs. the Clippers, although the game was a massive blowout, so head coach Billy Donovan might want to rethink that strategy. If Adams can't give it a go on Wednesday, both Grant and Enes Kanter should see an uptick in minutes. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:27 pm
  • Tarik Black (ankle) expected to play Tuesday
Tarik Black (left ankle) is expected to play Tuesday vs. Denver.

Advice: He was a full participant during shootaround, so he should be out there tonight. However, Black is only averaging 5.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season, so his playing status is largely irrelevant in fantasy hoops. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:24 am
  • Aron Baynes (knee) does not practice Tuesday
Aron Baynes (knee) did not practice Tuesday but expected to be able to play Wednesday vs. Atlanta.

Advice: Baynes injury appears to be minor, but if he does miss time Boban Marjanovic would be the primary beneficiary. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:57 am
  • Andre Drummond (knee) misses practice Tuesday
Andre Drummond (knee sprain) did not practice with the team on Tuesday, but reportedly "will be fine."

Advice: Drummond sprained his knee on Sunday, which caused him to leave the game for a brief period. However, he did return, finishing with 15 points and 17 rebounds in 32 minutes. It sounds like the absence from Tuesday's practice is purely precautionary, as Pistons beat writer Rod Beard tweeted that Drummond is "fine." Thus, we expect Drummond to suit up Wednesday vs. the Hawks. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:05 am
  • Gorgui Dieng (illness) back at practice Tues
After missing Monday's practice, Gorgui Dieng (illness) was back on practice on Tuesday.

Advice: Dieng is expected to be ready to roll on Tuesday night when the Wolves play the Spurs. Dieng is coming off one of his best games of the season, when he lit up the Mavs for a season high-21 points on 10-of-12 shooting and eight rebounds on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:57 am
  • Willie Reed (sternum) will play Tuesday
Willie Reed (bruised sternum) is available to play Tuesday vs. the Rockets.

Advice: Outside of the four games Reed started when Hassan Whiteside was sidelined, Reed is averaging 11.9 minutes as a reserve in the 28 games he has played off the Miami bench this season. Reed's return could cut into James Johnson's minutes, as Miami wouldn't need JJ to backup Whiteside. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:50 am
  • Ryan Anderson (illness) doubtful for Tuesday
Ryan Anderson (illness) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game vs. the Heat.

Advice: After playing at least 32 minutes in each of the Rockets first seven games in January, Anderson's minutes have dipped a bit of late. He played just 25 minutes last Friday and then 23 on Sunday. As it turns out, it is because he has been fighting the flu for the last few days. If Anderson is unable to play on Tuesday, Corey Brewer, Sam Dekker, Montrezl Harrell and Trevor Ariza would likely divvy up his playing time. Clint Capela is also slated to return on Tuesday, so that will help fill the frontcourt void left by Anderson. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:40 am
  • Kelly Olynyk's aggressive play keys C's wins
The Celtics have asked Kelly Olynyk to be aggressive and look for his shot more often.

Advice: Olynyk had offseason surgery that kept him from participating in full basketball activities for the better part of six months. He is finally working his way back into optimal shape and has played well of late. He has scored at least 12 points in four of the Celtics last five games and has 41 points, 17 boards and six 3-pointers over his last two games. There is a chance he gets promoted to Boston's starting lineup, as coach Brad Stevens said, " I think he’s a good fit with Al (Horford)." Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:23 am
  • Jokic leads offensive revival in Denver
The Nuggets have been one of the NBA's most efficient and effective offenses since sticking with Nikola Jokic as the team's starting center.

Advice: Over the last month, the Nuggets are top-10 in the league in field goals made, field goal accuracy, 3-point accuracy, 3-point field goals made. Jokic has been the centerpiece of the offense, and the engine driving them forward. Over his last 14 games, Jokic is averaging 19.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists. He's been top-15 overall fantasy producer over this stretch. The sky is the limit for this kid over the second half of the season Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:31 am
  • Rudy Gobert goes for 18-17-4 in win
Rudy Gobert took advantage of the center-less Suns on Monday and racked up 18 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks in 36 minutes of a 106-101 win.

Advice: Gobert hit 8-of-12 shots and also had a steal, and we were simply a year too early on predicting his breakout season. It's happening before our eyes, as he's averaging 12.3 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. Tyson Chandler was out and Alex Len played just 21 minutes, leaving Gobert to roam free without much opposition tonight. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:04 pm
  • Kelly Olynyk scores 15 off Boston bench
Kelly Olynyk didn't replace Amir Johnson in the starting lineup on Monday, but did play through an ankle injury and hit 6-of-9 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists and a steal in 26 minutes.

Advice: Olynk is playing well right now and appears to be on the cusp of starting for Boston. But even if he continues to come off the bench, he's averaging 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 3-pointers while shooting 64 percent from the field in 26 minutes a game over his last five. He's a hot pickup in fantasy right now, even if he never does crack Boston's starting five. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:36 pm
  • Faried scores 20 points in season-high 33 min
Kenneth Faried started at power forward in Denver's win over the Magic and finished with 20 points (on 10-of-12 shooting), five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in a season-high 33 minutes.

Advice: Faried replaced Wilson Chandler in the starting lineup on Monday and rewarded coach Mike Malone's decision. It's just the third time this season Faried has cracked the 20-point plateau, and the first time he's played more than 30 minutes. Darrell Arthur (knee) didn't play, which opened up some extra time for Faried. It was Faried's first start since December 12th, so it will be interesting to see if Malone decides to go back to Chandler or stick with The Manimal in Denver's next game on Tuesday vs. the Lakers Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:59 pm
  • Nikola Jokic pours in career-high 30 points
Nikola Jokic was unstoppable in the Nuggets blowout victory over Orlando Monday night, scoring a career-high 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a 3-pointer.

Advice: Jokic joins Carmelo Anthony as just the second Nugget to tally at least 30 points, 10 boards, five assists and three steals in a single game over the last 25 years. However, this performance isn't a complete surprise because, despite playing through a nagging wrist injury that may require offseason surgery, Jokic has been an absolute beast of late. He is now averaging 21.6 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists over the Nuggets last seven games. Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:32 pm
  • Olynyk, Bradley will play Monday vs. Hornets
Kelly Olynyk (ankle) and Avery Bradley (Achilles) will play Monday vs. the Hornets.

Advice: Olynyk got tripped up by a ball boy during Sunday's practice and rolled his ankle, but luckily the ankle tweak won't force him to spend any time on the sidelines. Bradley is likely going to start tonight, which will send Marcus Smart back to the bench. Rotoworld.com Monday, 2:57 pm
  • Faried starting, Chandler headed to the bench
Kenneth Faried will move into the starting lineup for Monday's matchup with the Magic, sending Wilson Chandler to the bench.

Advice: This move is likely a matchup-based decision with Orlando going with a more traditional frontcourt, so Chandler could be back in the starting five as soon as Tuesday's game against the Lakers. In 15 starts this season, Faried owns averages of 9.8 points, 8.4 boards, 1.0 steal and 1.1 blocks per contest in 22.5 minutes, so him running with the first unit won't result in a major uptick in value. Rotoworld.com Monday, 1:28 pm
  • Tarik Black (ankle) questionable for Tuesday
Tarik Black (sprained left ankle) is questionable to play Tuesday vs. the Nuggets.

Advice: Black was previously dealing with a right ankle sprain, so this is a new injury. If he's out, Thomas Robinson would likely soak up most of his minutes, but that doesn't mean all that much, as Black only averages 15 minutes a night. Rotoworld.com Monday, 1:00 pm
  • Steven Adams (concussion) out Monday vs. LAC
Steven Adams has been diagnosed with a concussion and he will not play Monday vs. the Clippers.

Advice: Adams won't be able to return until he clears the league-mandated concussion protocol testing, and whether or not Enes Kanter moves into the starting five, he's sure to be flirting with minutes in the 30s so he could have a huge game tonight. For now, we'll be considering Adams questionable for Wednesday's game in Golden State. Rotoworld.com Monday, 11:58 am
  • Reed (bruised sternum) probable Tuesday
Willie Reed (bruised sternum) is probable for Tuesday's game vs. the Rockets.

Advice: Reed only plays minutes in the teens while Hassan Whiteside is healthy, but this does have a couple fantast implications. Luke Babbitt's minutes will take a hit with Reed back in the rotation and James Johnson won't have to spend a lot of time as the backup center. Reed is just a handcuff for Whiteside's owners in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:58 am
  • Ivica Zubac quiet vs. Pistons on Sunday
Lakers' center Ivica Zubac finished Sunday's home loss to the Pistons with four points, five boards, two blocks and one assist in nine minutes.

Advice: The Lakers intend to get 19-year-old Zubac more minutes as the season continues. Lakers coach Luke Walton said the staff is "making an effort to get Zubac more minutes ... He's been working hard and playing well in practices." He's an interesting rest-of-season option, but doesn't have much appeal for owners who need immediate value. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 9:57 pm
  • Andre Drummond hits rare 3-pointer Sunday
Andre Drummond briefly exited Sunday's game with a right leg injury, but he returned to finish with 15 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block in 32 minutes.

Advice: Drummond appeared to injure the knee or lower part of his right leg, but he was no worse the wear after returning and we'll leave him off the injury report. He wasn't very efficient tonight, hitting 6-of-17 FGs and 2-of-5 FTs, but he managed to sink a 3-pointer for the second time this season and fifth time in his career. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 9:47 pm
  • Steven Adams scores six points, exits game
Steven Adams (head) scored six points with four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes against the Kings on Sunday.

Advice: Adams left the game after hitting his head on the floor and never returned, as he was being evaluated for a concussion. The Thunder play against the Clippers on Monday, so if Adams did indeed suffer a concussion, he will almost certainly miss that contest. If that is the case, Enes Kanter will see a boost and becomes an enticing DFS value play. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 9:42 pm
  • Andre Drummond exits w/ right leg injury
Andre Drummond exited Sunday's game with an apparent right leg/knee injury, but he has since returned to the Pistons' bench.

Advice: Drummond exited early in the third quarter and had a limp as he walked into the locker room, so we'll consider him questionable to return. Aron Baynes and Boban Marjanovic would gain the most if Drummond misses any time. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 8:03 pm
  • Steven Adams exits game vs. Kings
Steven Adams (head) will not return to Sunday's game against the Kings.

Advice: He is being evaluated for concussion-like symptoms and will miss the remainder of tonight's game. Enes Kanter will move into the starting lineup and see a boost in production, if Adams misses any time. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 7:52 pm
  • Nikola Jokic still dealing w/ left wrist pain
Nikola Jokic still doesn't have full range of motion in his left wrist, he continues to play through pain, and it's possible that he will need surgery after the season.

Advice: Jokic shed his wrist brace for Thursday's game and plans to play without it again on Monday, and the good news is that there's no suggestion of more DNPs. "I cannot go to push-up position," Jokic said. "[Doctors] said they could [perform surgery], but it wasn’t 100 percent that it would feel better." This isn't a comforting update for Jokic's owners, but he's been on fire lately and all signs point to him playing through his discomfort for the rest of the season. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 3:17 pm
  • Mike Muscala (left ankle) won't play Monday
Mike Muscala (left ankle) won't travel for Monday's game vs. the Knicks.

Advice: The Hawks play in Detroit on Wednesday, so there's a chance that Muscala will miss multiple games. Kris Humphries should see his role increase with Muscala on the shelf, but Atlanta also relied heavily on their swingmen after Muscala's injury on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:48 pm
  • Gorgui Dieng scores season-high 21 points
Gorgui Dieng scored a season high-21 points on 10-of-12 shooting during Sunday's 98-87 loss to the Mavericks, adding eight rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes.

Advice: Dieng was en fuego on the offensive end, as he regularly abused Dirk Nowitzki on his post ups. This was a nice bounce-back game after Friday's four-point, 1-of-10 shooting disaster, and while owners shouldn't expect this sort of offensive output on most nights, Dieng's steady stream of defensive statistics with solid shooting percentages has his him churning out steady mid-round value on the year. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:02 pm
  • Brook Lopez (rest) won't play Sunday vs. HOU
Brook Lopez (rest) will not suit up for Sunday's game against the Rockets.

Advice: Head coach Kenny Atkinson said that the Nets having played six games in nine nights, including a Thursday-Friday back-to-back set is the reason why he's resting Lopez today. Justin Hamilton will start tonight sans Lopez, so he's on the radar as a potential streamer or DFS punt play. Sean Kilpatrick and Bojan Bogdanvoic will likely be doing the heavy lifting on the offensive end, and Caris LeVert could see some increased opportunity with the second unit. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 12:41 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) will not return Sunday
Mike Muscala suffered a left ankle injury and he will not return to Sunday's game vs. the Bucks.

Advice: He was ruled out pretty quickly after being sent to the locker room, so we're going to consider him questionable for Monday's game against the Knicks. If he's out, Mike Scott could get into the rotation and Dwight Howard could see his minutes rise to the high-30s. Monday will be the second game of a back-to-back set, meaning Atlanta won't have a shootaround, so we likely won't get another update on Muscala until closer to Monday's tip. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 12:38 pm
  • Kelly Olynyk (ankle) doesn't practice Sunday
Kelly Olynyk rolled his right ankle when he was tripped up by a ball boy while going through some shooting drills on Sunday, and he was unable to participate in the remainder of the practice.

Advice: At the moment, It's unclear how severe this ankle injury is, but for now we'll have to consider Olynyk questionable for Monday's game against the Hornets. If he's out, his playing time will be divvied up between Jonas Jerebko and Amir Johnson. Check back for another update following Monday morning's shootaround. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 11:19 am
  • Willie Reed (sternum) limited at practice Sun
Willie Reed (bruised sternum) was a limited participant during Sunday's practice.

Advice: "During the non-contact part, there was some soreness," Reed said. "All in all, I’m fine. We’re just going to see how it feels when you take a blow to it. That’s the biggest key." With Reed on the sidelines, James Johnson has been forced into heavy minutes, earning some run at the five-spot in small ball lineups when Hassan Whiteside goes to the bench. Reed isn't worth a roster spot anywhere. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 11:14 am
  • Rudy Gobert grabs season-high 19 rebounds
Rudy Gobert scored 19 points with a season-high 19 rebounds, two assists and two blocks on Saturday against the Magic.

Advice: This was his 27th consecutive game with double-digit rebounds and he now has five double-doubles in the month of January. Gobert continues to have a great season, averaging career highs with 12.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game, as well as a 65.8 field goal percentage. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:24 pm
  • Andre Drummond grabs 19 rebounds in loss
Andre Drummond scored nine points on 3-of-7 shooting with 19 rebounds, one assist and one steal vs. the Jazz on Friday.

Advice: He was held to single-digit points for just the second time in his last 12 games, but that's what happens when you go up against the Stifle Tower (Rudy Gobert). Look for him to bounce back in a dream matchup with the Lakers on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:40 pm
  • Aron Baynes scores two points in start
Aron Baynes started on Friday vs. the Jazz and scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting in 18 minutes.

Advice: He had zero rebounds but somehow managed to block four shots. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) was out and the Pistons started Baynes to match up with Utah's frontcourt, so he will likely return to the bench against the Lakers on Sunday regardless of KCP's status. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:33 pm
  • Kelly Olynyk gets hot, scores 26 points
Kelly Olynyk was on fire against the Hawks on Friday, making 9-of-11 from the field for a season-high 26 points with eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Advice: He started the third quarter with coach Brad Stevens going with the hot hand after KO scored 18 in the first half. On top of that 100.0 effective field goal percentage, Olynyk's defense was very good on the low block to help Horford. Coach Brad Stevens lives on the hot hand, so Olynyk is going to be up and down. He's only worth an add if he was on your short list before this gem. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:03 pm
  • Gorgui Dieng makes just 1-of-10
Gorgui Dieng made 1-of-10 from the field for four points with three rebounds, two assists and five fouls in 33 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: He's actually been a terrific shooter lately, making 54.4 percent from the field over his last 19. This bad game comes on two really rough ones with 25.5 minutes per game, so there's a good chance this is the low point. Plus, the Wolves are talking up Nemanja Bjelica. This may be the best chance to buy low on him. His owners should obviously stick with him. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:04 pm
  • Bebe blocks four shots in win
Lucas Nogueira scored 10 points with nine rebounds, two assists and four blocks in 30 minutes against the Nets on Friday.

Advice: He has been great when teams attack him as a weak-side helper and with his 2.0 blocks per game in just 26.4 minutes per game over his last five. For what it's worth, the Nogueira and Jonas Valanciunas lineup didn't even work today in this blowout win with a -6.9 net rating in 12 minutes, and it's only a so-so +2.2 in their last 15 games -- used in seven games in that span. Bebe should still be owned in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:21 pm
  • Brook Lopez scores 20 in a loss at TOR
Brook Lopez scored 20 points with three rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and one turnover in 29 minutes against the Raptors on Friday.

Advice: He wasn't happy with how the Nets blew a lead on Thursday and maybe that's why he played so much in a road game tonight. The Nets are plummeting in the standings with a nine-game losing streak, so the likelihood of a Brook shutdown in April is growing by the day. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:42 pm
  • Aron Baynes will start vs. the Jazz
Aron Baynes will draw the start next to Andre Drummond on Friday vs. the Jazz.

Advice: Many were expecting Stanley Johnson to start in place of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder), but it does make some sense to start Baynes to match up with Derrick Favors. Despite the starting label, Baynes is only worth a look in very deep leagues in the short term. Coach Stan Van Gundy said on Thursday that Boban Marjanovic will be his backup center going forward, so he should be in the rotation as well. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:57 pm
  • Kelly Olynyk starts 2nd half for Johnson
Kelly Olynyk started the second half in place of Amir Johnson on Friday vs. Atlanta.

Advice: Olynyk was rolling in the first half with 18 points and four treys, so coach Brad Stevens is going to go with the hot hand in the second half. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:27 pm
  • Lucas Nogueira getting the start at PF
Lucas Nogueira is getting the start at power forward against the Nets on Friday.

Advice: Going with Bebe against the NBA's fastest team is an interesting move, so we'll see how it works for the Raptors. He's made two previous starts at PF, averaging 6.5 points, 7.0 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals. He's worth owning in standard leagues right now. Rotoworld.com Friday, 4:13 pm
  • Harris, Bojan, Booker & Lopez are starting
Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, Bojan Bogdanovic, Trevor Booker and Brook Lopez will start against the Raptors on Friday.

Advice: The Nets are not resting their starters in a road back-to-back game, but there is a very good chance their minutes are held in check. Go ahead and start Brook in season long leagues, but he's a little risky in DFS. Rotoworld.com Friday, 3:29 pm
  • Willie Reed (sternum) will not play Friday
Willie Reed (bruised sternum) will not play in Friday's game against the Bucks.

Advice: Reed is averaging 11.9 minutes in non-starts this season, backing up Hassan Whiteside. The Heat don't have another true center on the roster. With Reed not available on Friday, Udonis Haslem may see more minutes behind Whiteside. The more intriguing outcome, from a fantasy perspective, would be Miami playing small-ball, with James Johnson seeing additional minutes. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:46 am
  • Kenneth Faried returned to action on Thursday January 12. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:37 am
  • Nikola Jokic returned to action on Thursday January 12. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:37 am
  • Ivica Zubac scores eight points
Ivica Zubac scored a career-high eight points with four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 15 minutes against the Spurs.

Advice: As you could imagine, it was a garbage-time special. The Lakers like him as a potential long-term rotation piece for his array of skills, including a nice shooting touch. He's only a stash in super deep leagues, of course. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:26 pm
  • Brook Lopez scores 20 in a loss
Brook Lopez scored 20 points with six rebounds, three assists, one block, one steal and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes against the Pelicans on Thursday.

Advice: He's been extremely consistent with at least 20 points in each of his last three. That said, there is a very good chance Lopez gets the night off in Toronto for the road game in a back-to-back set on Friday. If that' the case, Justin Hamilton would benefit most while Luis Scola would help out. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:26 pm
  • Nikola Jokic dominates in win over Pacers
Nikola Jokic put on another one of his clinics in London during a 140-112 win over the Pacers on Thursday, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He continues to sizzle as a passer with plenty of highlight-reel dimes and also has at least five in four straight. What really has made Jokic elite lately has been his remarkable 72.3 true shooting percentage in his last 13. He's posted a MVP Curry-like 64.8 effective field goal percentage on his 64 jumpers in that span to go with an ridiculous 71.9 percent on his shots from within eight feet. In Nikola we trust. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 2:58 pm
  • Kenneth Faried scores 15 points vs. Indiana
Kenneth Faried scored 15 points with nine rebounds, one block, one steal and two turnovers in just 16 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday.

Advice: All six of his makes were at the rim and his four offensive boards led to five points for him. Faried is in a bit of a position battle for Jusuf Nurkic for the backup five spot with Faried about a third of his minutes at the four today. He could be worth owning due to a trade possibly helping him out, but there will be several bad games with an unclear role. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 2:34 pm
  • Willie Reed (sternum) questionable for Friday
Willie Reed (bruised sternum) is questionable for Friday's game against the Bucks.

Advice: He did not practice and was in sweats for the session on Thursday. Reed has been in the rotation as a straight backup to Hassan Whiteside, but likely won't play more than 15 minutes most nights. If he's out, Udonis Haslem could be next man up or the Heat could use James Johnson at the five more. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:29 pm
  • Kenneth Faried (illness) will play
Kenneth Faried (illness) is available to play against the Pacers on Thursday.

Advice: He missed practice on Wednesday and it's unclear when he started getting sick. The Nuggets did post some pictures of Faried around town in London, so his illness doesn't sound too bad. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:41 am
  • Nikola Jokic will play on Thursday
Nikola Jokic (illness) wil play against the Pacers on Thursday night.

Advice: He was sick on Saturday, so he's had plenty of time to get back to 100 percent. When Jokic can avoid foul trouble and the Nuggets are in close games, he has a great chance to get minutes in the mid 30s. Expect a big game in London today. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:36 am
  • Nikola Jokic (illness) is expected to play
Nikola Jokic (illness) is still expected to play on Thursday vs. the Pacers.

Advice: This isn't much of an update after he was upgraded to probable on Wednesday. His owners can go ahead and pencil him into active lineups and we'll confirm that the fantasy star is starting this afternoon. Darrell Arthur (leg) will head back to the bench and may not even play. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:47 am
  • Kenneth Faried (illness) now expected to play
Kenneth Faried (illness) is now expected to play on Thursday vs. the Pacers.

Advice: He was originally considered questionable after missing Wednesday's practice. With Nikola Jokic returning from an illness, the Nuggets will have to decide whether Faried or Jusuf Nurkic gets the backup center minutes Thursday. However, Darrell Arthur (leg) and Wilson Chandler (illness) are questionable, so their absence could open up some more minutes. Faried is on the trading block and really needs a move in order to have value. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:30 am
  • Gorgui Dieng's minutes wane in past two games
Gorgui Dieng's playing time was down for the second straight game on Wednesday, as he scored 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting with two boards, two assists and one block in 26 minutes of action.

Advice: Dieng logged 25 minutes vs. Dallas on Monday and he hasn't been in foul trouble in either game. Shabazz Muhammad's stellar play is the apparent cause of his dip, and it doesn't help that the struggling Wolves won the past two games. He's been a steady mid-round value and his owners shouldn't panic -- if anything, this could develop into a buy-low opportunity. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:02 pm
  • Steven Adams scores 12 in 39 minutes
Steven Adams scored 12 points with eight rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 39 minutes against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Advice: The Thunder went with the big lineup with Adams and Enes Kanter for 21 minutes tonight and it worked with a +24.9 net rating. It's also been successful all season with a +13.2 net rating in 260 total minutes. As for Adams himself, his minutes are on the rise with 34 per game in January. He's a solid mid-round player in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:56 pm
  • Kenneth Faried (illness) questionable vs. IND
Kenneth Faried (illness) did not participate during Wednesday's practice and he is being deemed questionable for Thursday's game against the Pacers.

Advice: If Faried is forced to the sidelines on Thursday, Jusuf Nurkic and Darrell Arthur will split most of his minutes, but with Nikola Jokic (illness) being listed as probable, Nurkic and Arthur aren't all that appealing in most leagues. Owners can expect to get another update on Faried's status following Thursday morning's shootaround. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:47 am
  • Nikola Jokic (illness) probable for Thursday
Nikola Jokic (illness) is probable to play Thursday vs. the Pacers.

Advice: Jokic missed Saturday's loss to the Thunder, but he's now had a full five days to rest up, so he should be just fine for Thursday's game. With Jokic back on the court, he'll siphon away some minutes from Jusuf Nurkic and Darrell Arthur. Owners can expect to get another update on Jokic's status following Thursday morning's shootaround. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:29 am
  • Andre Drummond blocks seven shots in loss
Andre Drummond hit 4-of-5 shots and 1-of-6 free throws for nine points, 12 rebounds, three steals and a season-high seven blocks in Tuesday's 100-94 loss to the Kings.

Advice: His previous season high was four blocks, so he nearly doubled that up tonight. He came in on fire, scoring 28 points with 14 rebounds in back-to-back games, and the seven swats helped make up for the lack of points tonight. He had also been shooting free throws pretty well in January, hitting 8-of-11 over his last four games, but couldn't get the freebies to drop tonight. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:34 pm
  • The Willie Reed party is over in Miami
Willie Reed played just 11 minutes off the bench on Tuesday, going 1-of-4 with four points, four rebounds and a block.

Advice: He was pretty fun to own while Hassan Whiteside missed four games with an eye injury, but the party is over, as Whiteside has been back for two games and had 28 points and 20 rebounds tonight. Feel free to handcuff Reed if you own Whiteside, but he should generally be dropped for a hot free agent now that Whiteside is back and killing it. But if Whiteside gets traded, Reed could suddenly have a lot of value again. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:10 pm
  • Brook Lopez scores 20 points in loss
Brook Lopez scored 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting in Tuesday's loss to the Hawks.

Advice: He played 32 minutes and added two rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and two triples. The Nets have a back-to-back set coming up on Thursday vs. the Pelicans (at home) and Friday vs. the Raptors (on the road), so a maintenance day could be in his future because he plays for the Nets. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:43 pm
  • Lucas Nogueira fills stat sheet in win
Lucas Nogueira played 21 minutes and hit 3-of-4 shots for seven points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks in Tuesday's win over the Celtics.

Advice: Nogueira doesn't score much, but is averaging 4.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.8 blocks over his last five games. Maybe you can use him in a Roto league if you need blocks, but his lack of scoring makes him hard to roster in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:30 pm
  • Kelly Olynyk playing well for Celtics
Backup center Kelly Olynyk hit 6-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer for 13 points, four rebounds and a block in 25 minutes on Tuesday.

Advice: Oly also had 12 points, four boards, four assists and two 3-pointers on Saturday, as Tyler Zeller continues to sit with an illness. Olynyk is far from being a must-own player, but with Zeller missing four straight games, Olynyk is worth keeping a close eye on right now. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:15 pm
  • Steven Adams scores 20 points vs. Bulls
Steven Adams went off for 20 points on 11-of-14 shooting in Monday's easy win over the Bulls.

Advice: He torched Robin Lopez all night and added five rebounds, two assists and one block in 34 minutes. This was his fifth game with 20+ points this season, an impressive number when you consider that he failed to reach 20 points in his previous three seasons. Adams has a tough matchup with Memphis on Wednesday, a team that held him to six points on 1-of-9 shooting in their last meeting. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:09 pm
  • Tarik Black (ankle) plays 12 minutes Sunday
Tarik Black (sore right ankle) had seven points, three rebounds and one steal in 12 minutes during Sunday's win vs. the Magic.

Advice: The ankle injury isn't a legitimate concern, so any deep-league owners relying on Black can start him confidently in a four-game week. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 10:43 pm
  • Andre Drummond w/ season-high 28 pts, 14 reb
Andre Drummond piled up 28 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and two blocks with just one turnover in 52 minutes of action vs. Portland on Sunday.

Advice: Drummond made 13-of-20 shots during the Pistons' clutch double-OT victory, and he even went 2-of-3 at the FT line tonight. He played just 25 minutes in Detroit's previous game but that was due strictly to foul trouble. He's scored 20+ points just nine times this season but three of those games are in January, so his owners are certainly enjoying a happy new year. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 10:29 pm
  • Aron Baynes (ankle) plays six minutes Sunday
Aron Baynes (ankle) returned to action on Sunday with two points and one rebound in six minutes.

Advice: The Pistons got some unexpected rest when Saturday's game was postponed, but both team's schedules allowed for an immediate make-up date. Baynes barely saw the court tonight because Andre Drummond played a whopping 52 minutes in the double-OT win, and he faces a renewed challenge from Boban Marjanovic. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 10:24 pm
  • Rudy Gobert held to five points vs. Grizzlies
Rudy Gobert made just 1-of-3 FGs and 3-of-6 FTs for five points on Sunday, adding 13 rebounds with two assists, three steals, one block and four turnovers.

Advice: Utah was playing their fifth game in a seven-day stretch and they were facing the Grizzlies' defense -- the result was a mere 79 points for Utah on 38.9 percent shooting. Gobert has been rolling along after a slow start to the season, and his 23 straight games with double-digit rebounds is a franchise record for the Jazz. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 8:04 pm
  • Lucas Nogueira plays 13 minutes off bench
Lucas Nogueira came off the bench on Sunday with four points, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 13 minutes.

Advice: Norman Powell started and this was purely a matchup-based switch by coach Dwane Casey, as a Nogueira/Jonas Valanciunas frontcourt stood no chance defensively. Patrick Patterson (knee) also returned tonight, and Jared Sullinger (foot) is advancing in his recovery, but Nogueira deserves some patience if you need boards, blocks and FG%. He played 42 minutes on Saturday, after all, and should settle somewhere between these two extremes. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 6:27 pm
  • Ryan Anderson quiet in 129-122 road win
Ryan Anderson was quiet during Houston's 129-122 victory on Sunday, posting nine points (2-of-8 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs) with four boards and one steal in 32 minutes.

Advice: Houston was playing the second game in a back-to-back set, and Anderson didn't quite seem to have his legs under him tonight. He's only scored single-digit points in consecutive games once this season, back in early November, so expect him to bounce back vs. Charlotte on Tuesday. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 6:01 pm
  • Aron Baynes is available for Sunday vs. POR
Aron Baynes (ankle) is available for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Advice: Baynes has missed the last three games with an ankle injury. During his absence, Boban Marjanovic served as the primary back for Andre Drummond and coach Stan Van Gundy said that he would get another opportunity to play the same role. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 4:46 pm
  • Willie Reed grabs 10 boards in 17 minutes
Willie Reed returned to the bench on Sunday, going 2-of-6 from the field on his way to four points, 10 rebounds, one steal, one block and one turnover in 17 minutes.

Advice: Hassan Whiteside (eye) logged 31 minutes as a starter, so it's going to be tough for Reed to be much of a factor in fantasy hoops operating as Whiteside's backup. You could justify handcuffing him to Whiteside, but Reed isn't worth owning in most scenarios while Hassan is healthy. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 3:44 pm
  • Lucas Nogueira shifts to bench Sunday
Lucas Nogueira will come off the bench vs. Houston on Sunday.

Advice: Nogueira logged 42 minutes as a starter on Saturday but the matchup doesn't play to his strengths, so a sharp reduction can be expected. Patrick Patterson's return from a knee injury is another threat to Nogueira's role, but he's still worth holding as a blocks specialist. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 2:50 pm
  • Brook Lopez scores 26 points with 3 triples
Brook Lopez scored 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting (7-of-7 from the line) to go with three 3-pointers, two boards, two assists, one steal, one block and two turnovers in 32 minutes on Sunday.

Advice: Rumors are beginning to surface that the Nets are considering parting ways with their franchise cornerstone in Lopez, and Lopez owners should be rooting for that outcome. He's skilled enough to have solid value regardless of his uniform, and if he’s traded to a contender, he’ll be much less likely to receive random rest days down the stretch (something that is nearly guaranteed in Brooklyn). Watch out for a potential rest day during the Nets' upcoming Friday-Saturday back-to-back set. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 12:34 pm
  • Willie Reed will come off the bench Sunday
Willie Reed will come off the bench on Sunday vs. the Clippers.

Advice: Hassan Whiteside (eye) will be returning from a four-game absence, but Reed won't be completely irrelevant because the Heat are going to ease him back into action. Reed averaged 13.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 blocks in four starts, so Whiteside's owners in deeper leagues should consider owning him as a handcuff. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 6:20 am
  • Kenneth Faried returned to action on Saturday January 7. Rotoworld.com Jan 8, 12:53 am
  • Mike Muscala scores 11 points
Mike Muscala scored 11 points with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes during a 97-82 win over the Mavs on Saturday.

Advice: It'll be interesting to see what the Hawks do with Muscala. Coach Mike Budenholzer cooled off on Moose as a four lately, but you would think he would slide over there should Paul Millsap get traded. He's a solid stash in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 7, 9:24 pm
  • Lucas Nogueira plays 42 mins in OT loss
Lucas Nogueira scored nine points with eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in a season-high 42 minutes in Saturday’s 118-123 overtime loss to the Bulls.

Advice: He got his second start in a row as Patrick Patterson (knee) sat out for the fourth consecutive game. So long as Pat Pat is sidelined, Bebe should continue to see an increased role. Fantasy owners in need of rebounds and blocks, can add Nogueira. Rotoworld.com Jan 7, 9:17 pm
