      Darius Garland led Cleveland with 30 points (12-of-27 FGs), three rebounds, seven assists, two steals and four triples in a 109-102 loss to the Celtics in Game 4 on Monday.

      Advice: Cleveland had to play this game without Donovan Mitchell, who was sidelined with a calf injury. That meant that Garland was going to be asked to do a lot more, and he rose to the occasion. It wasn’t enough for them to get the win, but he had by far his best game of this postseason. If Mitchell remains sidelined for Game 5 on Wednesday, Garland will once again have to orchestrate Cleveland’s offense like he did in this game. This has been a disappointing playoff run for Garland, but this was an encouraging performance that showed that he can still shine when he needs to. Rotoworld Monday, 7:24 pm

Garland, playing with more weight on his shoulders to lead the short-handed Cavaliers offensively, posted his highest scoring total of the postseason thus far.       Advice: Holiday led all Celtics in Game 4 in threes made while ending as one of three players with 15 or more points to go along with a team-high-tying handful of assists and a team-best trio of steals in a winning effort. Holiday connected on at least four threes for the first time this postseason, and he has now tallied at least 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists in two straight contests for Boston.       Advice: Holiday has been a disappointment this postseason, but he has been much better over their last two games. After scoring in double figures in just three of their first seven playoff games, Holiday averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.0 block and 3.5 triples in their two games in Cleveland. He is playing like the star they acquired this summer to help push them over the edge, and if he continues to produce to this level, they won’t have any issues closing out the Cavs on Wednesday and advancing to the conference finals.       Holiday logged 18 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one block in 38 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

      Advice: Holiday was aggressive from the get-go, looking to score from the opening tip. Although he ended with a modest 18 points (still a high for Holiday in this season's playoffs), the bulk of those came in the first half, keeping the Celtics on the front foot.       Jrue Holiday finished with 18 points (7-of-10 FG), eight rebounds, five assists, a block and three triples across 38 minutes in Saturday’s win over Cleveland.

      Advice: Holiday averaged 12.5 points per game in the regular season (fewest since his rookie campaign), and he scored in single figures in four of seven in the playoffs leading up to Saturday’s Game 3 victory. The 18 points are his most through eight games in this season’s playoffs, and though he hasn’t been much of a factor on offense, he’s been getting it done consistently as a defender and facilitator.       Derrick White amassed 10 points (3-of-11 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes in Thursday’s Game 2 loss to the Cavaliers.

      Advice: Having hit seven 3-pointers in Boston’s Game 1 blowout of the Cavs, White appeared to be in for a big series. However, his shot went missing in Game 2, and Derrick wasn’t the only Celtics player to struggle. As a team, Boston shot 8-of-35 from beyond the arc, with Cleveland outscoring them by a 39-24 margin. Thursday’s performance ended a three-game streak of at least 25 points for White, who scored 20 or more in three of Boston’s five games against Miami in the first round.       Advice: White embraced a bigger role on offense on a night when Jayson Tatum struggled (7-19 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), and the former responded by delivering his third consecutive game with 25 or more points. White has taken a step forward due to Kristaps Porzingis (calf) being sidelined, and it'd be fair to consider him Boston's third-best offensive weapon under the current lineup construction. White will aim to keep the streak alive in Game 2 on Thursday, as the Celtics have gone 20-3 this season when he's scored 20 or more points between the regular season and the playoffs.       Advice: Garland is in line for a rough matchup in this series, as he'll have to deal with two excellent defenders in Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, so his Game 1 display is not entirely surprising. He didn't have his best performances in the first-round series against the Magic either, and he's averaging just 14.8 points and 5.4 assists per game through eight playoff appearances. In fact, Garland has failed to surpass the 15-point mark in six of his eight playoff outings, a clear downgrade after averaging 18.0 points per contest during the regular season.
