  • Mavericks to let DeAndre Liggins go?
The Mavericks are not expected to pick up DeAndre Liggins' option for next season.

Advice: The Mavericks claimed Liggins off waivers during the final week of the season and were expected to take a "long look" at him this summer, but they are now prepared to move in another direction. The 29-year-old defensive specialist has career averages of 2.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.6 steals. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:40 am
  • Dallas focused on developing young core
ESPN's Marc Stein said that the Mavericks are focused on "cementing and developing its young core."

Advice: Stein adds that this includes Harrison Barnes, Nerlens Noel, Dennis Smith Jr. and Seth Curry. The Mavericks were originally expected to be major players in free agency and were heavily linked to Jrue Holiday, but now their offseason priority is to re-sign Noel as a restricted free agent and develop their young talent. As for Barnes, expect him to reprise his role as a go-to option on offense for the Mavericks in 2017-18, making him a safe pick in the middle rounds. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:37 am
  • Mavericks priority is to re-sign Noel
According to ESPN's Marc Stein, re-signing Nerlens Noel is Dallas' offseason priority.

Advice: This has been reported several teams this offseason and it helps Noel's case to stay in Dallas with the Mavericks selecting PG Dennis Smith Jr. at No. 9. The Mavericks monitored Noel's minutes during his short time in Dallas and he was a mild disappointment, but assuming his knee is 100 percent, his role should grow in 2017-18. Dallas could offer him a five-year max deal worth roughly $146 million, or they could match an opposing max offer sheet of four years at $108 million. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:39 am
  • Sean Marks calls Jeremy Lin the leader
Nets GM Sean Marks said Jeremy Lin is "definitely" still the leader of the team.

Advice: "We’ve got young players. He’s definitely the leader of that clubhouse, with his work ethic and the stuff he does in there," Marks said. "He’s tremendous." Lin has one more year left on his deal with a player option for a second, and Marks made it clear that he "certainly" wants him around. It's going to be interesting to see how he coexists with D'Angelo Russell, but Lin said he's excited to share the court alongside another player who is dynamic because it will make the game easier. The Nets should use plenty of two-PG lineups, so Lin's value should be fine. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:55 am
  • Joel Embiid, 76ers talking extension?
According to 76ers managing owner Josh Harris, signing Joel Embiid to a contract extension is one of the the team's offseason priorities .

Advice: "Look, I'd just say we want Joel to be on the team for a long time," Harris said. "We want us all to grow old together. That's the way I would put it." The window to extend Embiid is from July 1 until the day before the season opener in mid-October. Even with the durability concerns, a max extension is likely which means he could be looking at $130 million over five years or $100 million over four years. Coach Brett Brown did say on Friday that Embiid will more than likely have minute restrictions again next season, but we'll have a better idea of what those are as training camp approaches.
