  • Draymond wins Defensive Player of the Year
Draymond Green won the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year.

Advice: Rudy Gobert and Kawhi Leonard are every bit as deserving, but Green was due for one of these after Leonard took home the last two awards -- Green was the runner up the last two seasons. The two-time NBA champion's production slipped with Kevin Durant in Golden State, but he still was a top-25 player in standard leagues with averages of 10.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.0 assists. 1.4 blocks, 1.1 triples and a career-high 2.0 steals per game. • Giannis wins Most Improved Player Award
Giannis Antetokounmpo won the 2017 Most Improved Player Award.

Advice: Giannis led the Bucks to a sixth place finish in the East with a 42-40 record, earning a spot on the Eastern All-Star starting five in the process. The Greek Freak was a top-5 asset in standard leagues with averages of 22.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.9 blocks and 0.6 3-pointers on 52.2 percent shooting, becoming the first player in NBA history to finish in the top 20 in total points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Entering his age-23 season, you can make a strong argument of taking him with the No. 1 pick in fantasy drafts. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm
  • Wizards extend qualifying offer to Bogdanovic
The Wizards have reportedly extended a qualifying offer to Bojan Bogdanovic.

Advice: This means Bogdanovic will become a restricted free agent along with Otto Porter. The Wizards will prioritize re-signing Porter, so Bogdanovic will only be back in Washington if his price doesn't get out of hand. After his mid-season trade from Brooklyn, Bogdanovic averaged 12.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 triples. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:07 pm
  • WAS extends qualifying offer to Otto Porter
The Wizards have reportedly extended a qualifying offer to Otto Porter, making the forward a restricted free agent.

Advice: The Wizards have the ability to match any offer he receives, so it's hard to imagine them letting him go even though he could be looking at a max deal. The Nets are expected to make a strong push to pry him away from Washington, but several other teams should surface as we approach July 1. Porter averaged 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.9 treys on 51.6 percent shooting, returning top-25 value in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:01 pm
  • Hawks extend qualifying offer to Hardaway Jr.
The Hawks have officially extended a qualifying offer to Tim Hardaway Jr.

Advice: The move makes THJ a restricted free agent, meaning the Hawks can match any offer he receives from other teams. Hardaway Jr. is coming off a breakout season with averages of 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.9 triples, and the Hawks made it clear that one of their top priorities is to bring him back. Entering his age-25 season, THJ will be one of the top free agent SGs on the market along with J.J. Redick, Dion Waiters and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:40 pm
  • 76ers still undecided on Gerald Henderson
The 76ers still haven't decided if they will pick up Gerald Henderson's $9 million team option for 2017-18.

Advice: The 76ers only have a few roster spots open and are hoping to make a splash in free agency, so they are likely leaning towards declining it. The 76ers have been linked to shooting guards such as J.J. Redick and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and they already have several interesting young SGs in Timothe Luwawu, Justin Anderson and Furkan Korkmaz. The deadline is Friday, but expect Henderson to fine a new home in 2017-18. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:49 am
  • Paul George 'very unlikely' to join Cavaliers
According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, a three-team trade that would send Paul George to Cleveland and Kevin Love to Denver is "very unlikely" to happen.

Advice: Vardon confirmed an ESPN report that the talks took place, but it sounds like they didn't get very far. The Cavaliers initiated the trade talks, but the Pacers weren't interested in what the Nuggets had to offer -- Kenneth Faried, Wilson Chandler and Emmanuel Mudiay were all mentioned in ESPN's report on Sunday, but the Pacers were probably hoping for a better young prospect and a draft pick(s). George's value on the trade market is declining by the day, so Indiana will be motivated to find him a new home sooner rather than later. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:17 am
  • Nets decline K.J. McDaniels' $3.5M option
The Nets will reportedly decline their $3.5 million team option for K.J. McDaniels, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: McDaniels was traded from the Rockets mid-season last year, and as a member of the Nets' bench he averaged 6.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks. He has intriguing per-minute fantasy potential, but would need an ideal situation to be worth considering in typical leagues. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 8:57 pm
  • Report: Cavs eye Carmelo if he's bought out
The Cavaliers will reportedly be a "leading contender" for Carmelo Anthony if he gets an offseason buyout from the Knicks.

Advice: A lot would have to happen for this to become a reality, and the Cavs' interest could also wane if they manage to pry Paul George away from the Pacers. Despite the well-chronicled acrimony between Melo and the Knicks' front office, and Phil Jackson's public call for Melo to "go somewhere else," there haven't been any reports that a buyout is likely. On the contrary, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith both attested in early June that Melo hopes to stay in New York. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:13 pm
  • Shawn Dawson will play at summer league
Shawn Dawson will reportedly play for the Rockets' summer league team.

Advice: Dawson tried to make his way onto an NBA squad via the summer league route last year but ended up getting waived during training camp. The Rockets already have a lot of depth in their backcourt, so Dawson will really need to impress during summer league to earn himself a camp invite. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:15 pm

  • Jaylen Brown untouchable in trade talks?
Celtics GM Danny Ainge said that he hangs up the phone when teams ask about Jaylen Brown in trade talks.

Advice: Several names in Boston have been floating around the rumor mill such as Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart, but it sounds like Brown is all but untouchable. This also might explain why the Kristaps Porzingis trade talks stalled -- the Knicks reportedly wanted Brown in any deal. A crowded wing rotation in Boston limits Brown's fantasy appeal, but expect him to take on a larger role in 2017-18 because of his ability to play three positions. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 9:45 am
  • Mavericks to let DeAndre Liggins go?
The Mavericks are not expected to pick up DeAndre Liggins' option for next season.

Advice: The Mavericks claimed Liggins off waivers during the final week of the season and were expected to take a "long look" at him this summer, but they are now prepared to move in another direction. The 29-year-old defensive specialist has career averages of 2.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.6 steals. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:40 am
  • Dallas focused on developing young core
ESPN's Marc Stein said that the Mavericks are focused on "cementing and developing its young core."

Advice: Stein adds that this includes Harrison Barnes, Nerlens Noel, Dennis Smith Jr. and Seth Curry. The Mavericks were originally expected to be major players in free agency and were heavily linked to Jrue Holiday, but now their offseason priority is to re-sign Noel as a restricted free agent and develop their young talent. As for Barnes, expect him to reprise his role as a go-to option on offense for the Mavericks in 2017-18, making him a safe pick in the middle rounds. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:37 am
  • Suns think Warren can play with Jackson
The Suns are convinced they can play T.J. Warren next to Josh Jackson.

Advice: This isn't surprising to hear and coach Earl Watson said he thinks Jackson can play all five positions. Tucker has also played shooting guard, small forward and power forward with the Suns, so it makes sense on his end. However, it may be tough to start both with Devin Booker, Eric Bledsoe, Marquese Chriss and whoever they start at center as four of their starting five. It could make sense to bring Warren off the bench, which would hurt his fantasy value. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:07 pm
  • The Kings are releasing Arron Afflalo
The Kings are releasing Arron Afflalo.

Advice: The Kings added some really nice perimeter depth on Thursday with De'Aaron Fox, Justin Jackson and Frank Mason. Plus, they could also be adding Bogdan Bogdanovic for next year, so they may have several new pieces to their backcourt compared to the start of the 2016-17 season. As for Afflalo, he is still 31 and he may be looking to join a contender next year. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:53 pm

  • Ben Simmons to have minute restrictions
76ers coach Brett Brown said it would be "very ambitious" for Ben Simmons to not have minute restrictions next season.

Advice: While he's on track for a full recovery, Simmons will likely be monitored similar to the way Joel Embiid was during his rookie season. That means he will likely sit out one game of back-to-back sets as well. There's a lot to like about Simmons with his pass-first style, but the restrictions are going to be annoying for fantasy owners. 76ers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo said he thinks Simmons and Markelle Fultz will form a "dynamic backcourt," all but confirming that both players will be running the offense. • Kelly Oubre (PRP) back on the court already
Kelly Oubre is already back on the court after undergoing a PRP injection in his right knee earlier this month.

Advice: Just about three weeks after the procedure, Oubre being cleared to do on-court work is a positive development. Although he won't play in summer league, Oubre should be all systems go by the time training camp rolls around in a few months. He could play a big role for Washington if Otto Porter, who is expected to receive a lucrative payday as a restricted free agent, decides to sign elsewhere. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:18 pm
  • Bulls still interested in re-signing Mirotic
The Bulls remain interested in re-signing Nikola Mirotic.

Advice: Well, their interest probably dropped on Thursday with their selection of Lauri Markkanen at No. 7. Mirotic is also 26 years old, so he's not quite as young as the rest of this rebuilding team. Mirotic was also in coach Fred Hoiberg's doghouse for his defense, so the Bulls drafting another stretch four with even more size is worrisome. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:54 pm
  • Report: Bulls deal Jimmy for LaVine, Dunn, #7
The Bulls will trade Jimmy Butler and the No. 16 pick to the Wolves for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and the No. 7 pick, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

Advice: It's a blockbuster night. Coach Tom Thibodeau helped make Jimmy the player that he is and now he'll get him as the 2017 All-Star version. Butler will undoubtedly see huge minutes and he'll get to play next to the best offensive big man he's seen in Karl-Anthony Towns. Butler was able to sustain a high usage rate next to Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo, so he should still be in the upper 20s with elite scoring and a little bit of everything. The Wolves had better make the playoffs this year. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 4:46 pm
  • Report: Suns shop Jared Dudley to Pelicans?
The Suns have reportedly spoken to the Pelicans about a trade involving Jared Dudley, likely in exchange for second-round picks.

Advice: New Orleans holds the No. 40 pick, in addition to the No. 52 pick they acquired from the Wizards for Tim Frazier. Dudley would give the Pelicans an alternative to guys like Solomon Hill, Quincy Pondexter and Dante Cunningham, but it's obviously not a given that this deal will come to fruition.
