  • Austin Rivers scores 16 points in start
Austin Rivers scored 16 points with two rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes as the starting point guard against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: The fact that he started over Raymond Felton was a good sign, but getting smoked in the first half negates that. With Blake Griffin (knee) getting really close, it should affect Rivers the most because he's more of a score-first guard and that's not needed as much next to BG. Plus, he has been a nightmare on defense. He's a hold for the rest of the month, but may fall off in February. 45 minutes ago
  • Nikola Mirotic scores 11 points in win
Nikola Mirotic scored 11 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday's 102-99 victory over the Kings.

Advice: It was his best game since returning from illness, but nothing to be too excited about. He can frustrate owners with his volatility, but is still worth owning in standard leagues. 46 minutes ago
  • Kawhi Leonard scores career-high 41 points
Kawhi Leonard won the battle against LeBron James during a thrilling 118-115 overtime victory in Cleveland on Saturday, scoring a career-high 41 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 46 minutes.

Advice: He's not a system player. He's a system, player. Leonard's offense has been better than his defense these days with six consecutive games of at least 30 points. He joins only George "The Iceman" Gervin as the only two in Spurs history to do that. Leonard wasn't expected to have a J coming out of college, but he posted a 58.7 effective field goal percentage on just his 92 jumpers alone in his last six. The Spurs are first in the NBA in offensive rating in that span and it's all about Kawhi. The Spurs are a Kawhi system these days. 53 minutes ago
  • Anthony Tolliver struggles vs. Bulls
Anthony Tolliver hit 2-of-7 shots for six points with one rebound and two 3-pointers in Saturday's loss to the Bulls.

Advice: Tolliver continues to struggle and has now scored fewer than 10 points in four of his last five games, averaging 27.8 minutes, 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game during that stretch. He has not lived up to the hype and is far from a must-own player at this point. 59 minutes ago
  • Manu Ginobili hurts his back
Manu Ginobili hurt his back at the end of Saturday's game in Cleveland.

Advice: He grabbed his lower back and was in a lot of pain. Ginobili has a slew of back problems in the past, so you can pencil him as a DNP on Monday and possibly beyond. Jonathon Simmons would be worth a look in deep leagues while Bryn Forbes could be in the rotation. This helps Danny Green too. Today, 9:06 pm
  • Kyle Anderson gets 18 minutes
Kyle Anderson played 18 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with two points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and two blocks.

Advice: The Spurs when with a small-ball four and it really worked out. Anderson was a +19 in the plus-minus stat and he was out there on the last play, as well. Anderson could get decent run on Monday against the Nets, but obviously we're not adding him. Today, 9:00 pm
  • Iman Shumpert turns in another good one
Iman Shumpert scored 11 points with three rebounds, two assists, two steals, one turnover and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.

Advice: That will definitely work. He's battling 1.000 with standard league value in his four starts, so that counts for something -- you might have heard playing next to LeBron James helps. He's not going to save your season, but Shumpert's recent consistency in a new role makes him worth owning in standard leagues. Today, 8:34 pm
  • James Harden double-doubles vs. Memphis
James Harden scored 29 points with 10 assists, six rebounds, three steals, two blocks and four 3-pointers in Saturday’s 119-95 victory over the Grizzlies.

Advice: This was his best game against Memphis this year, as he recorded his 38th double-double of the season. He will have a day of rest before playing against the Bucks on Monday, a team he scored 38 points with six rebounds and eight assists against in their last meeting. It should be business as usual for the Beard in that matchup. Today, 8:28 pm

  • Paul George ejected after fouling out
Paul George was ejected for arguing with a ref on Saturday night in Utah.

Advice: He fouled out anyway, so the ejection didn't hurt his playing time. George did have some things to say to the ref and he does have a track record for comments about officials, so he could be fined. We would be very surprised if he is suspended or anything. George finished with 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes. Today, 8:09 pm
  • Courtney Lee scores 13 points in loss to Suns
Courtney Lee started and played 37 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Suns, finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, a block and three 3-pointers on 5-of-9 shooting.

Advice: Lee came in averaging 30-plus minutes in January, but hadn't scored more than nine points in his previous eight games. He might get hot and start scoring in double figures regularly, but for now, this looks like nothing more than a decent game against inferior defense. Today, 8:02 pm
  • Chandler Parsons scores 12 points in 22 mins
Chandler Parsons scored 12 points with four assists, two rebounds, three steals and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes on Saturday against the Rockets.

Advice: He has been restricted to 19 minutes per game, so the 22 minutes marks the most he has played since Nov. 18. He has scored in double figures in three of his last seven games, but continues to be a frustrating player to own. So long as he is on minutes restrictions, his fantasy ceiling will be capped. If this was the best he could do against his former team, fantasy owners can think about cutting him if needed. However, there is a slim chance he could finally return to form in time for the fantasy playoffs, but we're not holding our breath for that to happen. Today, 7:56 pm
  • James Johnson struggles with his shot vs. MIL
James Johnson hit 3-of-12 shots for seven points with six assists, three rebounds and one steal in 34 minutes on Saturday against the Bucks.

Advice: Johnson is struggling with his shot, shooting below 30 percent in his last two games, but he is still playing big minutes and helping fantasy owners with his peripheral stats. He remains a hold option despite tonight's underwhelming performance. Today, 7:20 pm
  • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist fills it up vs. BK
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 17 points with 14 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in a 112-105 win over the Nets on Saturday.

Advice: Yep, it's still nice for small forwards to play the Nets. This was his best scoring game since the season opener, making 7-of-11 from the field in this one. Kidd-Gilchrist only made 41.7 percent from the field and his defensive stats have really fallen off. This great game doesn't really move the needle on him. Start small forwards in DFS against the Nets. Today, 7:18 pm
  • Dion Waiters scores season-high 33 points
Dion Waiters hit 12-of-19 shots for a season-high 33 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in Saturday's 109-97 win against the Bucks.

Advice: As expected, coach Erik Spoelstra used the old C.J. McCollum rotation move for Waiters, giving him 100 percent of the backup point guard minutes tonight. Tyler Johnson (shoulder) is day-to-day with his surgically-repaired shoulder from last year, so he could miss time despite being day-to-day. Waiters should have value in that time, so he's worth a pickup for owners seeing good short-term output and some top-150 kind of numbers once Johnson is back. Josh Richardson (foot) would hurt him too. Today, 7:14 pm
  • Marcus Morris tips in game-winner, scores 25
Marcus Morris had a game-winning tip at the buzzer against the Wizards on Saturday, scoring 25 points with 11 rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

Advice: Marcus tipped it in over Markieff off a Tobias Harris miss to pull off the thrilling win (video in link below). As you might expect, his twin brother, Markieff, had a laugh with him after the game despite the Pistons snapping the Wizards' winning streak. Marcus is actually in one of his best grooves on the year, averaging 18.8 points, 8.0 boards, 3.0 assists and 2.0 treys over his last five. Even with those numbers, Morris is still only a seventh-round player in that span. That's pretty close to his peak value. Today, 6:34 pm
  • Al-Farouq Aminu scores 11 off the bench
Al-Farouq Aminu scored 11 points with seven rebounds, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes off the bench against the Celtics on Saturday.

Advice: He played some minutes at the five in this game and his minutes were back where they should be. Aminu is playing much better these days, so he's put himself firmly on the standard league radar. Today, 5:54 pm
  • Jeremy Lamb still out for Saturday
Jeremy Lamb (foot) will not play on Saturday against the Nets.

Advice: The updates have been pretty sparse on Lamb, so he's likely looking at a few more games out. With him out, it'll be Marco Belinelli and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist getting more solidified roles. Today, 3:38 pm
  • Jimmy Butler says the Bulls were 'terrible'
Jimmy Butler expressed frustration in his team's effort and performance after the Bulls lost to Atlanta on Friday night.

Advice: "We got to come out better, man," Butler said. "We got to start playing better from the jump. It's terrible basketball. Starting from me going all the way down the line. Otherwise, we're just going to keep getting our a---s beat." Butler is doing the right thing by sharing responsibility, but the reality is the Bulls have to do a better job of getting him the ball. Butler scored 19 points on just eight FG attempts on Friday night. Butler and the Bulls will look to bounce back Saturday vs. Sacramento. Today, 6:40 am
  • Gordon Hayward hurts hand, scores 26
Gordon Hayward scored 26 points with seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes against the Mavs on Friday.

Advice: He did hurt his hand and the team had to call timeout to stop the game because he was in so much pain. Hayward looked fine after that, but he sure does have a lot of hand injuries this year. Hayward has been wonderful since returning from a hand injury to start the year, posting third-round value per game on the season. He also ran the offense tonight in a no-PG lineup for eight minutes. Yesterday, 11:50 pm
  • Tyreke Evans scores eight points in loss
Tyreke Evans scored just eight points with four rebounds, no assists, two steals and one turnover in 13 minutes during a 143-114 blowout loss to the Nets on Friday.

Advice: The last time we saw Evans play the Nets, he busted out for 29 points. Of course, that was because he was on fire and Anthony Davis was out. He's going to be off for a couple days, so we'll see if he gets an increase on his minutes. Yesterday, 9:45 pm
