    • Chris Paul agrees to push back guarantee date
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Chris Paul has agreed to push back the date to guarantee his $30 million contract for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Paul’s agreement to push back the date to the start of free agency (6:00 p.m ET on Sunday) gives Golden State the chance to explore potential trade routes for the veteran point guard. He’s in the autumn years of his career, but he can still be an end-of-bench fantasy option thanks in large part to his elite production in the assists category. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago
    • Contract guarantee date pushed back
Paul and the Warriors intend to move back the guarantee deadline on the point guard's contract to Sunday, the start of free agency, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Friday.

Advice: If the Warriors guaranteed Paul's contract for 2024-25, the veteran would earn $30 million next season. Golden State can't afford that price and doesn't want to lose Paul in free agency for nothing, while the point guard likely agreed to this so he'd get a say in where he's potentially traded. Wojnarowski relays that the Warriors are still exploring trades, but what type of market Paul has at this point in his career remains unclear. He averaged a career-low 9.2 points per game in 2023-24. • Sticks in New Orleans
The Pelicans are picking up Alvarado's $1.99 million team option for 2024-25, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported Friday.

Advice: An undrafted point guard out of Georgia Tech, Alvarado has solidified himself as the Pelicans' top backup point guard over the last three seasons and will likely maintain that role next season. Last season, Alvarado averaged 7.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 18.4 minutes per game across 56 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:39 am
    • Immanuel Quickley to sign 5-year, $175M extension
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Immanuel Quickley will sign a five-year, $175 million extension with Toronto.

Advice: Quickley enjoyed a breakout 2023-24 campaign that began in earnest after he arrived in Toronto. He finished inside the top 100 in per-game fantasy hoops value last season, but he’s got mid-round upside heading into his first full season as a Raptor. Rotoworld Today, 7:13 am
    • Agrees to $175 million deal
Quickley agreed to sign a five-year, $175 million contract with the Raptors on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Raptors acquired the 25-year-old from the Knicks in December, and he turned up his game in Toronto as he started in all 38 appearances. Quickley averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 33.3 minutes while shooting 39.5 percent from deep for the Raptors. He was entering the 2024-25 campaign as a restricted free agent but has now secured a massive deal shortly after teammate Scottie Barnes agreed to a max contract. Rotowire.com Today, 6:49 am
    • Dealt to Charlotte
Jackson, along with three second-round picks, was traded to the Hornets from the Nuggets on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Denver is effectively salary-dumping the veteran guard to Charlotte to create financial flexibility. It's possible the Hornets will attempt to ship Jackson off elsewhere, though he would add a veteran presence to a team looking to transition from rebuilding to being competitive. If he remains with Charlotte, Jackson will compete for backup guard minutes. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:48 pm
    • Woj: DEN to trade Reggie Jackson to Hornets
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nuggets will trade Reggie Jackson and three future second-round picks to the Hornets.

Advice: Three days after it was reported that Jackson would opt into the final year of his contract, he’s headed to Charlotte. Given the career timeline, with Jackson moving from a title contender to a rebuilding team, the Hornets may buy him out or look to move the point guard elsewhere. If Jackson sticks in Charlotte, he could have some value backing up the oft-injured LaMelo Ball. For Denver, this move is about the money, as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will enter free agency, and Jamal Murray is on the verge of agreeing to an extension worth over $200 million. • Jamal Murray, DEN close on 4-year, $209M extension
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Nuggets and Jamal Murray are working on a four-year, $209 million extension.

Advice: Shams notes that Murray is expected to sign the deal when Denver presents it to him. Availability has been a concern for Denver’s star point guard, but he’s been phenomenal when healthy, stepping up under the brightest lights in the postseason. He and Nikola Jokic will be a duo to be reckoned with for years to come in the Mile High City. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:50 pm
    • Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov dealt to Raptors
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Kings have traded Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov and the 45th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft for Jalen McDaniels.

Advice: Vezenkov only logged 12.2 minutes per game as a rookie, but he could see an increase in playing time for the rebuilding Raptors. Mitchell averaged nearly 28 minutes per game as a rookie, but his playing time has declined in each of the last two seasons. Both players were afterthoughts off of Sacramento’s bench, but they may see new opportunities in Toronto. Neither player, however, is worth drafting in 12-team fantasy leagues next season.
