      Advice: Edwards struggled from the field, going 5-of-15 en route to just 18 points. After leading the series 2-0, the Timberwolves now find themselves trailing 3-2.       Anthony Edwards shot 5-of-15 from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line in Tuesday’s 112-97 loss to Denver, accounting for 18 points, four rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 44 minutes.

      Advice: Minnesota played Game 5 without Mike Conley, who was sidelined by a sore right Achilles. That placed even more responsibility on Edwards’ shoulders, which may not have been a good thing. Ant-Man did dish out a team-high nine assists, but he was also responsible for four turnovers while shooting 33.3% from the field. Aggression is never an issue for Edwards, but shouldering the offensive workload is considerably easier when he has his reliable sidekick on the court. Game 6 is on Thursday night in Minneapolis.     • Josh Giddey logs 12 minutes in Game 4 victory
      Josh Giddey only logged 12 minutes on Monday and finished with five points (2-of-8 FGs), two assists, one steal, one block and one triple against Dallas.

      Advice: Giddey played well over the final three games of their first round sweep of the Pelicans, but he hasn’t been able to replicate that success against Dallas. He has been a liability on both ends of the floor, which has resulted in him playing just 13.3 minutes per game through the first four games. Mark Daigneault hasn’t moved him to a reserve role yet, but he has basically been splitting minutes with Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe and Cason Wallace. Joe ended up starting the second half in place of Giddey in this one. Don’t expect Daigneault to make a starting lineup change now, but all four players should continue to see minutes in the low teens, with the hot hand seeing a larger role.       Edwards finished Sunday's 115-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 44 points (16-25 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 45 minutes.

      Advice: Edwards carried the Timberwolves on offense in Game 4, and at times, he did the heavy lifting all by himself. However, his impressive stat line was not enough to avoid a second consecutive loss at home. Edwards has scored 40 or more points in three of his last five playoff appearances, including twice in the current series. He'll aim to keep that run going Tuesday in Game 5.       Anthony Edwards scored 44 points in Sunday’s loss to Denver, adding five rebounds, five assists, two steals, a block and five three-pointers across 45 minutes.

      Advice: Ant-Man was superhuman yet again, though the rest of his team was more like the Wasp and stung him badly in the loss. Edwards shot an efficient 16-of-25 from the floor, while his teammates combined to shoot 23-of-57 for just 63 points. The next highest scorer on the team was Mike Conley, who chipped in 15, while Karl-Anthony Towns struggled to find his shot, and Naz Reid was given just 19 minutes. Edwards has been absolutely dominant in this season’s playoffs, but he’ll need more from his teammates now that the Western Conference semis are tied up and heading back to Denver for a pivotal Game 5.       Advice: Faced with the opportunity to deal the reigning champions a decisive blow, Minnesota failed to do so on Friday. Edwards was the only player to reach double digits in shot attempts, which was not the case in either of Minnesota’s two wins in Denver. While he shot the ball well overall, Ant-Man was responsible for five of the Timberwolves’ 14 turnovers in Game 3.       Advice: Edwards did all he could to help Minnesota climb back into Friday's contest, leading all Timberwolves players in scoring to go along with a half-dozen rebounds and handful of assists in a balanced outing. Edwards tallied his lowest point total of the conference semifinals, taking a bit of a step back after a pair of impressive performances in Denver earlier in the series.       Giddey closed Thursday's 119-110 loss to the Mavericks in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals with eight points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds over 11 minutes.

      Advice: Giddey's minutes continue to decrease with each passing game, and it wouldn't be surprising if he moves to a bench role ahead of Game 3 given how much he's struggled on both ends of the court. He delivered good numbers against the Pelicans, but in the two outings against Dallas, he's averaging 5.0 points while shooting 40 percent from the floor across 14 minutes.       Josh Giddey played 11 minutes in Thursday’s loss to the Mavericks, accounting for eight points (3-of-6 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) and two rebounds.

      Advice: If the first two games of this series are any indication, this may not be the series for Giddey. After logging 17 minutes in Tuesday’s Game 1 victory, he played 11 in Game 2, with Aaron Wiggins starting the third quarter. Wiggins, who finished with nine points, two rebounds, one block, and one 3-pointer, can serve as another floor spacer to open up driving lanes for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. Giddey, whom Mavericks center Daniel Gafford sometimes defended, does not possess that ability.
