    • Report: Pels unlikely to offer Ingram an extension
      According to Forbes Sports’ Evan Sidery, the Pelicans are unlikely to offer Brandon Ingram a contract extension this summer.

      Advice: Ingram, who struggled in the Pelicans’ first-round loss to Oklahoma City, is due to make a little over $36 million in the final season of his deal. He can sign an extension worth up to $208 million over four years. However, with Pelicans lead executive David Griffin saying during his post-season availability that changes will be made, Saturday’s report could be a sign that New Orleans is open to parting with Ingram if a proper deal can be made. Trey Murphy is also extension eligible, but his price tag is considerably lower than Ingram’s, whose 64 games played in 2023-24 were the most he’s been available for since being traded to New Orleans in 2019.     • Strong fourth quarter not enough
      Reaves closed Monday's 108-106 loss to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 19 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-8 FT), three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals over 34 minutes.

      Advice: Reaves scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as the Lakers were bounced from the playoffs on another game-winning shot by Jamal Murray. After a slow start to the opening-round series, Reaves averaged 20.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 35.0 minutes over the final three matchups, but Los Angeles won only one of those contests. The third-year wing appeared in all 82 regular-season games and averaged 15.9 points, 5.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 32.1 minutes -- all career highs.       Austin Reaves provided a scoring boost on Monday with 19 points (6-of-11 FGs), three rebounds, four assists, three steals, two blocks and one triple against Denver.

      Advice: Reaves came alive in the fourth quarter and had nine points over the final six minutes of the game as the Lakers traded leads with the Nuggets. It didn’t end up being enough to keep their season alive, but Reaves was still able to turn in a solid stat line. This was year one of a four year deal that has been a bargain for the Lakers. That flexibility should allow the Lakers to reload this summer, with Reaves being one of the only players outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis that should be a safe bet to be wearing purple and gold again next season.       Brandon Ingram struggled in the Game 4 loss on Monday, finishing with just eight points (2-of-14 FGs), four rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in a 97-89 loss to the Thunder.

      Advice: In a category fantasy league, BI was actually able to contribute some value, specifically on the defensive end. However, in the playoffs, they need him to make an impact as a scorer. Unfortunately, Lu Dort got in the way of that. Over the course of the series, Ingram averaged 14.3 points on 34.5% shooting from the floor, which simply won’t get the job done with Zion Williamson sidelined. It was a successful season for New Orleans, as they finished with 49 wins, but that didn’t help the much in the tightly-contested Western Conference playoff race. This was BI’s fifth year with the team, and they have yet to win a playoff series. Expectations will certainly be high heading into next season. Rotoworld Monday, 8:49 pm

      Austin Reaves played 30 minutes in Saturday’s Game 4 win over the Nuggets, accounting for 21 points (7-of-15 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), one rebound, six assists, and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.

      Advice: After scoring 22 points in the first two games of this series, Reaves tallied 22 and 21 in the Lakers’ two home games. He’s been a more consistent supplementary scoring option than D’Angelo Russell, who bounced back from a brutal Game 3 to score 21 points in Game 4. While D’Lo may offer a higher ceiling to DFS players, Reaves may be the safer option for Game 5 on Monday in Denver. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:21 pm

      Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 19 points (7-of-14 FGs), five rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and two triples in a 106-85 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 3 on Saturday.

      Advice: With Zion Williamson sidelined, the Pelicans have needed BI to put the team on his back. He simply hasn’t been able to do that. He is averaging 18.3 points per game in this series, which isn’t All-Star level production. They’re now down 3-0 in this series, and they’ll need Ingram to step up his aggressiveness in Game 4 on Monday if they want to extend this series. He made 50% of his shots in this game after shooting 50% in Game 2 as well. They simply need him to shoot more, which is something that Lu Dort hasn’t made easy. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:31 pm

      Advice: Reaves had two subpar showings in the first two games of the series, and even though he bounced back in Game 3, his efforts were not enough to lift the Lakers to victory. Reaves will aim to replicate these numbers in Game 4 on Saturday, as the Lakers need to win to avoid a first-round exit. D’Angelo Russell going scoreless and Rui Hachimura finishing with five points certainly didn’t help matters for the Lakers, who need a win on Saturday to extend their season. Reaves matched his point total from the first two games in Game 3 while accumulating four steals.
