    • Brook Lopez finishes season with 20-point night
      Brook Lopez logged 31 minutes in Thursday’s 120-98 loss to the Pacers, accounting for 20 points (7-of-12 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), five rebounds, and one assist.

      Advice: While Lopez thoroughly outplayed Myles Turner in Game 6, it didn’t matter because Indiana had a far superior bench. The veteran center shot 50% or better from the field in all six games, scoring at least 20 points in three. To say this was a brutal ending for a team with championship ambitions would be an understatement. Lopez isn’t a “sexy” fantasy target, based on his Yahoo ADP of 69.7, but he once again exceeded expectations. The veteran center finished the regular season as a top 50 player in 9-cat formats while sitting just outside the top 60 in 8-cat.       Adebayo supplied 23 points (10-26 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 118-84 loss to the Celtics in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

      Advice: Adebayo had to shoulder a bigger load on offense due to the absences of Jimmy Butler (knee) and Terry Rozier (neck), and for the most part, the star big man delivered. He scored 20 or more points in each game of the series while posting two double-doubles. Adebayo averaged 19.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest between the Play-In Tournament and the series against the Celtics (seven games). Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:53 am
       
    • Bam Adebayo finishes Game 5 loss with 23 points
      Bam Adebayo played 36 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Celtics, accounting for 23 points (10-of-26 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one 3-pointer.

      Advice: For the second straight game, Adebayo hit a 3-pointer. As was the case in Game 4, it did not matter, as the Heat were eliminated from the playoffs in blowout fashion. Bam led the team in points and assists but was inefficient as a scorer. Given how shorthanded Miami was, they needed a near-perfect game from the available players to have a shot. That didn’t happen, so attention now turns to the offseason. Adebayo entered the season with a Yahoo ADP of 32.7, and while the availability was there (70 games played), the production dipped slightly. The three-time All-Star averaged one point less per game compared to the 2022-23 campaign, and Bam also experienced decreases in field goal and free throw percentages.       Bam Adebayo led Miami with 25 points (11-of-22 FGs), 17 rebounds, five assists and one triple in a 102-88 loss to Boston in Game 4 on Monday.

      Advice: Bam had an excellent game, but it didn’t end up being enough for the Heat to defend their home court and tie the series up. Adebayo has had an impressive series, averaging 22.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. However, without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, they haven’t been able to put up much of a fight, aside from their Game 2 upset win in Boston. Expect another big game from Bam in Game 5, but it probably won’t make much of a difference in this series. The Heat simply haven’t been healthy enough to truly compete against a loaded Celtics team.       Karl-Anthony Towns turned in 28 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and four triples across 39 minutes in Sunday’s win over the Suns.

      Advice: Towns had his best game of the series, and the timing was perfect for Minnesota. Anthony Edwards led the way with 40 points, but KAT was the Wolves’ next highest scorer, and he chipped in his second straight double-double. Towns averaged just 25 minutes in Games 1-3, but he saw increased playing time, while Rudy Gobert played only 25 minutes.       Brook Lopez put up 27 points, nine rebounds, an assist, a block and three triples across 39 minutes in Sunday’s loss to Indiana.

      Advice: BroLo scored more points than 27 only twice in the regular season, and both games came way back in November. Sunday’s performance was certainly a rarity in the scoring department, but Lopez was forced to handle a colossal workload thanks to the absences of Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo and the early ejection of Big Bobby Portis. Lopez has scored at least 20 points in two of the Bucks’ last three games, and he’ll be asked to pick it up on offense Tuesday if Milwaukee’s stars are once again sidelined.       Advice: Lopez led all Bucks players in scoring in Sunday's loss while connecting on a trio of threes and ending one rebound shy of a double-double in a balanced performance. Lopez has stepped up as the leader in the paint for Milwaukee during the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), reaching double figures in all four postseason games while finishing with his highest scoring and rebound marks of the series thus far. It's not surprising to see him operate as one of the Heat's go-to players on offense since Jimmy Butler (knee) is out and not expected back before the end of this series.       Advice: Adebayo was the most productive of Miami’s five starters, reaching the 20-point mark for the third time in this series. However, he has yet to record a steal or blocked shot, which is surprising for a player accepted as one of the NBA’s best defenders, regardless of position. In three regular-season meetings between the Heat and Celtics, Adebayo averaged 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocked shots.
