  • Anthony Davis corrals 23 rebounds in Game 4 win
    Anthony Davis finished Saturday’s 119-108 win over the Nuggets with 25 points (11-of-17 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 23 rebounds, six assists, and one blocked shot in 42 minutes.

    Advice: With the Lakers’ backs against the wall, Davis was sensational in Game 4. And individual performances were not an issue for him in the series’ first three games. Davis matched his playoff career-high with 23 rebounds and was incredibly efficient on offense, shooting well above 50% from the field while only committing one turnover (with six assists). Davis is going to get his numbers. That much is certain. The question is how involved he will be offensively during crunch time. That did not appear to be an issue in Game 4, and the Lakers will need another dominant effort in Game 5 on Monday night in Denver. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago
     
  • LeBron James tallies 30 points, full stat line
    LeBron James played 39 minutes in Saturday’s 119-108 win over the Nuggets, accounting for 30 points (14-of-23 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one blocked shot.

    Advice: James committed six turnovers, but the overall body of work was good enough to help the Lakers extend their season. He scored 14 of his team-high 30 points in the fourth quarter, as the Lakers broke even in the period (28-all). Add in only being a minus-2 in third-quarter points, a significant issue in the first three games of the series, and Darvin Ham’s team lives to fight another day.   • Christian Wood (knee) picks up DNP-CD Saturday
    Christian Wood (left knee surgery) did not play in Saturday’s win over the Nuggets.

    Advice: Wood has not appeared in a game since February 14, so inserting him into a game of this magnitude may have been far-fetched.     Kristaps Porzingis finished Saturday’s Game 3 win over the Heat with 18 points (5-of-9 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks, and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

    Advice: After scoring 18 points in Game 1, Porzingis shot 1-of-9 from the field and scored six points in Bostons’ Game 2 defeat. He got untracked on Saturday, shooting 3-of-5 from three and tallying 18 points with a full stat line. Porzingis has recorded a full line in all three games, so DFS players got some value in Game 2.   • Jaylen Brown scores 22 with a full line in Game 3
    Jaylen Brown shot 11-of-20 from the field and 0-of-1 from the foul line in Saturday’s 104-84 win over the Heat, amassing 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in 33 minutes.

    Advice: Brown missed all four of his 3-point attempts, but that was the lone blemish on his stat line in the Celtics’ 20-point victory. He’s shot 50% or better from the field in all three games, scoring 20 or more in the last two. Brown and the Celtics combined to shoot 11-of-37 from three on Saturday, but they did a far better job defending that shot than in Game 2. Miami was 9-of-28 from beyond the arc in Game 3, a big reason why the Celtics took a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 is on Monday night, and Boston has won ten of its last 13 games in Miami.   • Jayson Tatum records 22/11/6/0/1 line in Game 3
    Jayson Tatum played 38 minutes in Saturday’s 104-84 win over the Heat, tallying 22 points (6-of-16 FGs, 8-of-12 FTs), 11 rebounds, six assists, one block, and two 3-pointers.

    Advice: While Tatum has scored at least 22 points in all three games, he’s been inconsistent regarding accuracy. He shot 50% from the field in Boston’s Game 2 loss but made fewer than 40% of his shots in Games 1 and 3 (both Celtics wins). Outside of the shooting, this was an efficient game for Tatum, who did not commit a turnover while recording his second double-double of the series. Derrick White also failed to record a turnover in Game 3, finishing with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes.     Nikola Jovic accumulated 15 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block, and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes in Saturday’s Game 3 loss to the Celtics.

    Advice: With Jimmy Butler sidelined, Jovic has been asked to provide more production and answered the call. The second-year forward recorded a full stat line for the second consecutive game, shooting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Also noteworthy for Jovic in Game 3 was the playing time, as he logged 34 minutes after accounting for 26 and 26 in the series’ first two games. Duncan Robinson, who has been dealing with left facet syndrome, only playing seven minutes had a lot to do with that. Also taking on an enhanced role during this series has been Jaime Jaquez Jr., who finished Game 3 with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one blocked shot in 34 minutes.     Ryan amassed zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and one steal over three minutes during Saturday's 106-85 loss to the Thunder in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

    Advice: Ryan failed to score in his three minutes, adding to what was a terrible night for the Pelicans. Playing in front of their home fans, the team offered little resistance.     Advice: Liddell saw rare playing time in the loss, as the Pelicans were blown out on their home court. The fact that he was in the rotation tells you everything you need to know about where the Pelicans are at right now.
