Drafting/Slotting
· If you draft a player in Round 1 to keep him the following season you need to use your 1st round pick to keep him.
· If you draft a player in Round 2 you can either keep him as your 2nd Round pick or move him up to your 1st.
· If you draft a player in Round 3 you can either keep him as your 3rd Round pick or move him up to your 1st or 2nd.
· If you draft a player in Round 4 you can either keep him as your 4th Round pick or move him up to your 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
Etc. Etc.
No player can be kept lower than they are drafted.
A player who is drafted carries that price tag for the entire season. If you sign a waived player who was drafted in the 3rd Round to keep him you’ll need to use your 3rd pick or above to do so. Same rule applies with traded players that were drafted. The basic rule of thumb is drafted players have a price tag so be careful not to double up if you have plans for them beyond the current season.
