Rudy Gobert shot 7-of-7 from the field and 4-of-7 from the foul line in Tuesday’s loss to the Nuggets, accounting for 18 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks in 40 minutes.

Advice: Gobert recorded a solid overall stat line in Tuesday’s Game 5. Still, the conversations will be dominated by the fact that he was Nikola Jokic’s primary defender for most of the night. The three-time MVP went off for 40 points and 13 assists without committing a turnover, so Gobert’s numbers will only be a footnote. His offensive performance in Game 5 is encouraging because it happened with Mike Conley (Achilles) sidelined. Gobert didn’t miss a shot from the field, with six of his seven makes coming within the restricted area. Jrue Holiday posted a full line on Monday with 16 points (6-of-11 FGs), seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and four triples against Cleveland in Game 4.

Advice: Holiday has been a disappointment this postseason, but he has been much better over their last two games. After scoring in double figures in just three of their first seven playoff games, Holiday averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.0 block and 3.5 triples in their two games in Cleveland. He is playing like the star they acquired this summer to help push them over the edge, and if he continues to produce to this level, they won’t have any issues closing out the Cavs on Wednesday and advancing to the conference finals. Advice: Holiday averaged 12.5 points per game in the regular season (fewest since his rookie campaign), and he scored in single figures in four of seven in the playoffs leading up to Saturday’s Game 3 victory. The 18 points are his most through eight games in this season’s playoffs, and though he hasn’t been much of a factor on offense, he’s been getting it done consistently as a defender and facilitator. Advice: Gobert returned in Game 3 after missing the previous contest due to the birth of his child, putting forth a quiet outing in Minnesota's first loss of the postseason. Gobert failed to reach double figures in both points and rebounds, not tallying 10 or more boards for the third time in the postseason and not crossing the double-digit scoring mark for the third time. Tim Hardaway Jr. amassed 17 points (6-of-10 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, one assist, and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes in Thursday’s 119-110 win over Oklahoma City.

Advice: After missing the last four games of Dallas’ first-round series against the Clippers with a sprained ankle, Hardaway offered little production in Tuesday’s second-round opener against Oklahoma City. He stepped up when needed in Game 2, scoring 17 points on a night when Kyrie Irving shot 2-of-8 from the field. Hardaway and PJ Washington combined to score 46 points, so Dallas heads home for Game 3 in a tie series instead of sitting in a 0-2 hole. The Mavericks host Game 3 on Saturday afternoon.
