      Advice: Gafford has been rotating at center with Dereck Lively, but the former Wizards big man continues to deliver every time he's called upon duty. He's scored in double digits in six of his last eight playoff contests, a span in which he's averaging 11.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.       Haliburton totaled 25 points (8-18 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, 10 assists, one block and three steals in 40 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

      Advice: The Pacers played a terrific game for the majority of the night but made some crucial mistakes in the final minute to allow Boston to sneak away with the win in overtime. The Pacers will be looking to bounce back in Boston for Game 2 Thursday.       Brunson underwent successful surgery for his left hand fracture Wednesday and will be re-evaluated in 6-to-8 weeks.

      Advice: Brunson picked up the fracture in Sunday's Game 7 loss against the Pacers, but with this timeframe, his status for training camp isn't likely to be in jeopardy. Brunson took his game to another level during the 2023-24 campaign, posting regular-season averages of 28.7 points, 6.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 2.7 three-pointers.       Obi Toppin tallied 15 points (6-of-8 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes in Tuesday’s 133-128 loss to the Celtics.

      Advice: The Pacers reserves scored 30 points in Game 1, enjoying a 17-point advantage in that category. Toppin and T.J. McConnell (13/3/4/1 in 25 minutes) were responsible for 28 of those 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to help the Pacers hold onto Game 1. Getting outscored by a 24-9 margin at the foul line and committing 21 turnovers were the issues for the Pacers, who had a three-point lead with 46.1 seconds remaining in regulation. A Jaylen Brown 3-pointer with six seconds remaining forced overtime, with Boston taking a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 is on Thursday night, and this is another series in which Toppin and McConnell will have an advantage.

      Tyrese Haliburton shot 8-of-18 from the field and 3-of-3 from the foul line in Tuesday’s 133-128 overtime loss to the Celtics, amassing 25 points, three rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, one block, and six 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

      Advice: After hitting six 3-pointers in Indiana’s Game 7 win over the Knicks, Haliburton hit six more in the Eastern Conference Finals opener. However, turnovers and a minus-15 margin at the foul line proved costly for the Pacers. Haliburton was only responsible for three of the team’s 21 turnovers, but many of the team’s miscues were unforced. While Indiana can take solace in having a chance to win Game 1 against a well-rested opponent, the truth is that they let this one get away.       Advice: Haliburton once again led the way for Indiana offensively in a winner-take-all victory, leading all Pacers in scoring and threes made while handing out a half-dozen assists to help the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.       Advice: Haliburton and the Pacers were outstanding in Game 7, with the road team coming out victorious for the first time this series. Indiana shot an NBA playoff-record 67.1% from the field and became the fifth team in NBA playoff history to score at least 130 points in a Game 7. Remove Games 1 and 5, and Haliburton was excellent, properly balancing setting up his teammates and seeking quality looks for himself. The Pacers hold a commanding double-digit lead, but even if the Knicks pull off a comeback and extend their season, Brunson would presumably miss extended time due to the injury.       Advice: Already down multiple rotation players due to injury, the Knicks lost Brunson to a fractured hand during the third quarter. He was already nagged by a right foot issue, which appeared to limit his burst off the dribble. Brunson played 29 minutes, finishing with 17 points (6-of-17 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), nine assists, and one 3-pointer.
