  • Out for FIBA Qualifying Tournament
    Markkanen (shoulder) will not play for Finland during the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in July, Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports reports.

    Advice: Markkanen is still rehabbing a right shoulder injury which forced him out of Utah's last nine games. The 27-year-old will not rush his recovery to play in the qualifier, as he is expected to return to on-court activities in August.     Washington chipped in 16 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds and two assists across 40 minutes during Sunday's 116-107 win over the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

    Advice: Washington finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double, meaning he's now gone four playoff contests without reaching that feat, but he's been remarkably consistent as a scoring alternative. Despite not being anything more than Dallas' third-best scoring option -- on his best games -- it's worth noting Washington has scored in double digits in all but one of his last 10 appearances, a span in which he's averaged 15.9 points per game while shooting 41.3 from beyond the arc.     PJ Washington finished Sunday’s win over Minnesota with 16 points (5-of-10 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists, and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

    Advice: Washington hasn’t been as prolific offensively as he was in the first four games of the Western Conference Semifinals, but he has remained a critical supplementary option. After missing all four of his 3-point attempts in Game 2, the former Hornet hit two in Game 3, including a crucial corner three with 3:38 remaining that gave Dallas the lead for good. Both of Dallas’ trade deadline additions have been huge for them, turning the team into a genuine title contender.
