      Advice: Mitchell’s calf started bothering him in Game 3, and now Cleveland will have to play Game 4 without their star player. This is a massive loss for the Cavs, who will have to try to defend homecourt without Spida, who is averaging 31.7 points per game in this series.       Advice: Mitchell is tending to a strained left calf, but it would be a major surprise if he wasn't cleared to play in advance of Monday's 7 p.m. ET tipoff. He didn't seem to be limited by the injury in the Cavaliers' 106-103 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 on Saturday, producing 33 points (12-22 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 43 minutes.       Advice: Mitchell played 43 minutes in Saturday’s Game 3 loss and injured his calf in the process. His injury is especially concerning for a team that was already down one starter (Jarrett Allen). If Mitchell cannot play on Monday, Caris LeVert is the player who will have to step up.       Advice: Washington enjoyed another splendid shooting night beyond the arc after draining seven shots from downtown in Game 2. The 23 shot attempts matched a season high for Washington, who is averaging 13.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in the playoffs.       PJ Washington accumulated 27 points (11-of-23 FGs), six rebounds, two assists, and five 3-pointers in 40 minutes in Saturday’s Game 3 win over the Thunder.

      Advice: Faced with defending Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Oklahoma City has not devoted as much attention to Washington. Given how well he’s played in the last two games, that could change for Game 4 on Monday. After hitting seven 3-pointers and scoring 29 points in Game 2, he made five more in Game 3 while leading the Mavericks in scoring. Washington attempted 23 shots on the afternoon, tied for the most of any player who saw action. PJ has been much better than expected, and Oklahoma City could take the approach of him regressing to the mean eventually. However, the last two games show this is a dangerous strategy.       Carter will undergo surgery to stabilize the third metacarpal in his left hand, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday. Carter is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.

      Advice: In simpler terms, Carter will have a procedure to fully fix his left hand -- the same hand he sustained a fractured middle finger on early this season -- and is expected to be ready for the 2024-25 campaign. Carter missed a month and a half after sustaining the injury (which required surgery) in November but was able to return and appear in 55 games (48 starts) overall.       Advice: Hardaway stepped his game up off the bench and provided a scoring boost to the second unit, and his contributions proved to be much-needed as the Mavericks evened the series with a huge road win.       Advice: After missing the last four games of Dallas’ first-round series against the Clippers with a sprained ankle, Hardaway offered little production in Tuesday’s second-round opener against Oklahoma City. He stepped up when needed in Game 2, scoring 17 points on a night when Kyrie Irving shot 2-of-8 from the field. Hardaway and PJ Washington combined to score 46 points, so Dallas heads home for Game 3 in a tie series instead of sitting in a 0-2 hole. The Mavericks host Game 3 on Saturday afternoon.
