    • Healthy after surgery
Bulls vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas said Wednesday that LaVine (foot) has been "fully cleared" after undergoing surgery in February, Will Gottlieb of AllCHGO.com reports.

Advice: LaVine had surgery on his right foot in early February with a recovery timetable of 4-to-6 months. A little over four months removed from the procedure, LaVine has been fully cleared and should be a full-go for training camp. The 28-year-old appeared in just 25 games during 2023-24 due to a few injuries, including the right foot issue that lingered throughout the campaign before February's shut down. He averaged fewer than 20 points and four assists per for the first time since 2017 last year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 pm
    • Headed to Brooklyn
The Knicks traded Bogdanovic (foot/wrist) to the Nets along with four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via the Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-round pick in exchange for Mikal Bridges on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Bogdanovic will head to Brooklyn after being traded from the Pistons to the Knicks in 2023-24. The veteran forward saw his production decrease after coming to New York as a bench option, averaging 10.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in 19.2 minutes across 29 regular-season appearances. Bogdanovic underwent surgery on his left wrist and was reported to need left foot surgery after the Knicks' postseason exit, but he is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. In Brooklyn, the 34-year-old forward will likely compete for a starting forward spot alongside Cameron Johnson (toe) and could return to his previous average of nearly 20 points per game. • Woj: Nets acquire Bojan Bogdanovic, draft picks
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets have acquired Bojan Bogdanovic and multiple draft picks from the Knicks in exchange for Mikal Bridges.

Advice: Bogdanovic’s salary for 2024-25 was not fully guaranteed before this deal; that would likely have to change to make the trade work. More critical for Brooklyn is the draft capital they’ve received: four unprotected first-round picks from the Knicks (2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031), another 2025 first-rounder via Milwaukee (top-4 protected), and an unprotected first-round pick swap. In addition to Bridges, the Knicks will receive a 2026 second-round pick. Restocking the coffers was essential for lead executive Sean Marks, given the picks that Brooklyn surrendered in prior deals. As for Bogdanovic, while he’s been effective in the past as a starter, he’ll be coming off of foot and wrist surgeries when next season begins. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:17 pm
    • Stein: DET possible option for Tim Hardaway Jr.
According to Marc Stein, Detroit has emerged as a “potential trade destination” for Tim Hardaway Jr.

Advice: A fixture in the Mavericks’ bench rotation throughout the regular season, Hardaway did not see much action as Dallas made its run to the NBA Finals. With one year remaining on his contract and the Mavericks needing to free up money to re-sign Derrick Jones Jr., it makes sense that THJ would be the subject of trade rumors. And based on comments made on social media by his father (which have since been deleted), it appears Hardaway is ready to move on, provided he has a more significant role at his next stop. During his introductory press conference, Pistons lead executive Trajan Langdon said he’s open to using the team’s cap space to take on contracts, provided future draft assets are attached. • Woj: Scottie Barnes signing max extension with TOR
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Barnes is signing a five-year, $270 million extension with the Toronto Raptors.

Advice: Barnes notched career highs in points (19.9), rebounds (8.2), assists (6.2), and steals in 2023-24 before suffering a season-ending hand injury. Toronto has locked up their franchise centerpiece on a long-term deal. Rotoworld Monday, 9:41 am
    • Set to ink five-year extension
Barnes (hand) agreed Monday with the Raptors on a five-year maximum extension worth up to $270 million, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Keeping Barnes in the fold long term is a no-brainer for the Raptors, as the 22-year-old forward took a big leap forward during his third NBA season in 2023-24. Over his 60 appearances this past season, Barnes posted averages of 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.7 three-pointers, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks in 34.9 minutes per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 78.1 percent from the free-throw line and 34.1 percent from three-point range. Each of those averages represented career highs, and the free-throw and three-point percentages were also personal bests for Barnes. Expect Barnes and the Raptors to finalize the extension at some point in the coming days. Barnes missed the final 22 games of the 2023-24 season after undergoing surgery on his left hand, but he's set for a healthy offseason and shouldn't have any restrictions by the time training camp gets underway in the fall. • Exercises player option
Bates-Diop (shin) exercised his $2.65 million player option Monday for the 2024-25 season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: This is an expected move for Bates-Diop. The forward made just 14 appearances for the Nets last season, averaging 1.6 points in 4.9 minutes per game. Bates-Diop missed the end of the season with a right shin stress reaction, but he's expected to be healthy entering training camp. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:29 am
    • Report: Keita Bates-Diop opting in with Nets
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Bates-Diop has chosen to opt to a one-year, $2.65 million deal that will keep him with Brooklyn for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Bates-Diop spent 14 games with the Nets after being traded by the Phoenix Suns last season and played a minor role off the bench. He averaged just 1.6 points per game with Brooklyn. Rotoworld Monday, 8:18 am
    • Report: Oshae Brissett to decline player option
According to Spotrac’s Keith Smith, Oshae Brissett plans to decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: The 2023-24 season was Brissett’s first in Boston, and it could be his last based on the reported decision to decline his player option. The former Pacer had a limited role for the NBA champions, appearing in 56 games and averaging 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11.5 minutes. Those averages were the lowest for Brissett since his rookie season as a Toronto Raptor. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:21 pm
