  • Derrick White (head) receives four stitches
Derrick White needed four stitches to repair a cut on his forehead after he took a nasty spill during Team USA's exhibition loss to Australia.

Advice: White passed his first concussion test, which is great news. He made the team after Kyle Kuzma had to drop out due to an ankle injury. The current iteration of Team USA lacks star-power, so White has a chance to see playing time. It certainly helps that the coach, Gregg Popovich, is very familiar with him. White has a week to rest up before the World Cup tips off in China on August 31. 32 minutes ago
  • Brooks says Beal can average 8 or 9 assists
Coach Scott Brooks said that he thinks Bradley Beal can "average eight or nine assists a game."

Advice: In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Brooks raved about his superstar shooting guard. In particular, Brooks explained how he believes there is "no limit" to his upside and that Beal can become an elite distributor with John Wall sidelined. "I think [Beal] can average eight or nine assists a game. I think those are numbers that are attainable, and I think he's ready for that challenge," said Brooks. That's a seemingly unattainable goal, as Beal has never averaged more than 5.5 assists per contest in his career. However, Beal's fantasy value would continue to climb if he bumped his dimes up into the six or seven apg range. Today, 10:29 am
  • Joe Harris named to Team USA final roster
Joe Harris has been named to Team USA's final roster for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Advice: He was on the roster bubble, but with Kyle Kuzma sidelined by an ankle injury, Harris makes the squad. They will need his outside shooting. Harris was bouncing around the G League just a few years ago. Remarkable that he's earned a spot on the US national team. The USA will play the Czech Republic on Sept. 1, Turkey on Sept. 3 and Japan on Sept. 5. Today, 8:04 am
  • Kyle Kuzma (ankle) will not play in World Cup
Kyle Kuzma is dealing with a left ankle injury that will prevent him from participating in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Advice: Kuzma was ruled out of Saturday’s exhibition loss to Australia due to left ankle soreness, and it appears it is serious enough to prevent him from making the final roster. We should have an update on the injury shortly, but there's no reason to believe it will prevent him from being ready for the start of training camp in late September. Today, 7:52 am
  • Patty Mills scores 30 points in win over USA
Patty Mills scored a game-high 30 points to lead Australia to a 98-94 victory over Team USA in an exhibition on Saturday.

Advice: Australia's victory snapped a 78-game U.S. winning streak. The last time Team USA lost an international game was the bronze-medal game at the 2006 world championships. The U.S. national team had been 30-0 all-time in Australia. America was up ten points in the second half, but Mills got red hot in the fourth quarter, scoring the team's final 10 points, carrying the Boomers to the upset win. Andrew Bogut chipped in 16 points. Today, 6:37 am
