  • Anthony Davis logs 5 minutes in All-Star game
Anthony Davis (bruised left shoulder) played only five first-half minutes on Sunday, making 2-of-2 shots for five points with one rebound.

Advice: Davis said afterward that his goal was to play limited minutes and avoid aggravating his injury. The key is that he was cleared to play at all for these All-Star festivities. The NBA doesn't want the Pelicans to rest him unnecessarily, which is good news for his fantasy owners, though any legitimate injury could turn into a reason to shut him down. With only 23 games remaining and New Orleans keen to maximize AD's trade value and their odds in the draft lottery, DNPs may be inevitable. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm
  • Blake Griffin enjoying career year in Detroit
Blake Griffin came into this season known as an oft-injured star, but went to great lengths this past summer to up his game and take care of his body.

Advice: "I don’t really think in terms (of getting back to the All-Star Game), but I knew I had another level to go to and being healthy was part of that," Griffin said. "I work as hard as I can and take care of my body the best that I can. I watch what I eat and I have my trainers. It’s a full-time job for me. For me, it wasn’t an if (I’d get back to being healthy); it was a when." Griffin has missed just two games this season, both of which were pre-planned rest days, and is on pace for his most games played since 2014. He was selected for his sixth All-Star game because he's posting career-highs of 26.3 points, 2.5 3-pointers and 36.3 minutes per game, in addition to 8.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists. • Myles Turner listens to coach McMillan
Coach Nate McMillan is often quiet, but he is to thank for helping Myles Turner rebound from a slow start this season.

Advice: "You're 22 years old. You work so hard to get to this point, you can't change now," McMillan preached to Turner, who had become known for his hard-working ways. Turner signed a four-year extension prior to the start of the regular season and took some more days off than he usually does. "He was pulling my leg a little bit but at the same time, I felt that," Turner said. "Just because you signed your first big contract doesn't mean you can take any days off now. You can never really get comfortable in this league. He reminded me of that. Keep being who I am." Since that point, he has become a two-way force for the 38-20 Pacers, who continue to hang onto the third-seed even with Victor Oladipo missing 22 of those games and done for the season. In the 10 games leading up to the All-Star break, Turner posted averages of 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 2.5 blocks and 1.3 3-pointers on 53.8% shooting. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:31 am
  • Karl-Anthony Towns enjoying great success
Karl-Anthony Towns will play in his second All-Star game on Sunday, but this one meant more than the first for the new face of the Wolves.

Advice: KAT explained that this year's All-Star selection meant more because of his decision to sign long-term in Minnesota, which was based on a promise he made with the late Flip Saunders. The Wolves have had a tumultuous season, but Towns has grown into more of a leader on and off the court. "He's starting to be a leader and be more unselfish as a player on both ends. You can just see the growth," teammate Jeff Teague said. "Karl is the happiest I’ve seen him in three years," Towns' father exclaimed. KAT is posting 23.1 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.8 3-pointers per game and is enjoying life as the team's go-to player. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 12:32 pm
  • Dirk Nowitzki undecided on retirement
Dirk Nowitzki said he hasn't decided if he will retire at the end of the 2018-19 season.

Advice: It has been assumed that Dirk this would be Dirk's final campaign, but, speaking with reporters on Saturday, he left the door slightly ajar. "It’s been humbling, even though I haven’t said this will be it," Nowitzki said. "I’m going to wait and see the last couple of weeks, how my body feels and if I continue to see improvement and I’m still having fun, we’ll see." Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:48 am
