Player Notes

  • Al Jefferson scores 20 points again
Al Jefferson matched his season high with 20 points vs. the Lakers on Friday, adding six rebounds, one assist and two steals in 17 minutes.

Advice: He had 20 points in 17 minutes in his previous game as well, but you simply can't trust him because he's only picking up the scraps behind starting center Myles Turner right now. Big Al hit 7-of-15 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line, so at least we know he still has some gas left in the tank in case Turner ever picks up a knock. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:39 pm
  • Myles Turner scores 15 points in loss
Myles Turner scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks in 33 minutes vs. the Lakers on Friday.

Advice: Turner is having a breakout season in every sense of the word and Pacers president Larry Bird gushed about his young center this week. "He wants to be great. He’s going to be great," Bird said. "To me, I think he’s got a chance to be one of the best players or maybe the best player [in the franchise’s history]." Turner is just 20 years old and is flirting with top-20 value in standard leagues on the season, so he's going to be a superstar in real life and in fantasy for a very long time. • Thaddeus Young racks up five more steals
Thaddeus Young racked up five more steals in Friday's loss to the Lakers, adding nine points (3-of-9 FGs), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer 33 minutes.

Advice: He's a thief and has racked up a ridiculous 20 steals over his last five games. He's averaging 10.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 4.0 steals and 0.6 triples in that span, so the steals are really boosting his value right now. He gets a tough matchup vs. the Jazz on Saturday, but continue to roll him out there. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:08 pm
  • Clint Capela scores career-high 22 points
Clint Capela showed he was close to 100 percent against the Warriors on Friday, scoring a career-high 22 points with 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 21 minutes.

Advice: We'll keep this one simple here. If Capela is somehow on your waiver wire, go fix that right now and pick him up. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm
  • Anthony Davis gets banged up yet again
Anthony Davis suffered a right quad contusion against the Nets on Friday, finishing with 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks in 27 minutes.

Advice: That's yet another injury for Davis. In the last week, we have him down for bumps and bruises to the following areas: right quad, left hip, right hip, tailbone, left fingers, left thumb and right wrist. Before the injury, he was actually going off, but he was limping throughout the second half. He'll likely be on the injury report, but he has until Jan. 23 to get right.
