      Kyrie Irving led Dallas with 20 points (7-of-14 FGs), one rebound, three assists, two steals, one block and three triples in a 117-95 loss to the Thunder in Game 1 on Tuesday.

      Advice: After scoring just six points in the first half, Irving once again turned it on for the second half and scored nine points in the third, which included a contested 3-pointer just before the buzzer. He was consistently better in the second half during their first round series against the Clippers, but his production in the second half of this game wasn’t enough to secure a win on the road.       The NBA announced Tuesday that Gobert (personal) has been named the 2023-24 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

      Advice: Gobert has now tied Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace for the most DPOY awards in NBA history with four. Gobert was the anchor Minnesota's defense, which boasted a league-best 108.4 defensive rating.       Tyrese Haliburton (lower back spasms) is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s Pacers-Knicks matchup.

      Advice: Haliburton has struggled as of late and scored just six points his last time out. His lingering back issue hasn’t caused him to miss time, but T.J.       Advice: Towns was tasked with more responsibility on the defensive end since Rudy Gobert (personal) was unavailable for this contest. Even though he had to deal with Nikola Jokic on both ends of the court, Towns thrived and posted a great stat line. This was Towns' third double-double over his last four playoff appearances, and he's expected to return to his role at power forward in case Gobert is ready to return for Game 3 of the series, scheduled for Friday.       Karl-Anthony Towns shot 10-of-15 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line in Monday’s 106-80 blowout of the Nuggets, tallying 27 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks, and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

      Advice: Minnesota needed Towns to step up with Rudy Gobert (personal reasons) away from the team, and that’s what he did. KAT tied for the team lead in points, shooting 66.7% from the field while also grabbing 12 rebounds. He’s scored 20 points or more in three straight games, and not only was foul trouble not an issue for Towns, but he and the other starters were able to watch the end of Tuesday’s rout from the bench. Gobert should be available for Friday’s Game 3, but Minnesota needs Towns to play at this level consistently. Now 6-0 this postseason, the Timberwolves look like a team that can play into June.       Advice: The Pacers hope this series will work out similarly to their first-round triumph over Milwaukee regarding Haliburton’s offensive production. He reached double figures in the final five games of that series after scoring nine points in the first-round opener, and the All-Star point guard was limited to six on Monday night. Haliburton did rack up eight assists and four steals, so all wasn’t lost for DFS players. However, he’ll need to do more as a scorer in this series, even with Indiana’s overall firepower.       OG Anunoby played 42 minutes in Monday’s 121-117 win over the Pacers, finishing with 13 points (5-of-14 FGs), nine rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three 3-pointers.

      Advice: Anunoby did not produce a prolific stat line, but he was solid as the Knicks rallied to take Game 1. The versatile forward finished one rebound shy of a double-double and was also responsible for a team-high three steals. Anunoby has his hands full defensively with former Raptors teammate Pascal Siakam, but he made a few critical plays off the ball down the stretch. Haliburton posted his lowest point total of the postseason thus far, failing to reach double digits for the second time in seven playoff contests.
