Anthony Edwards takes over, finishes with 33 PTS
Anthony Edwards shot 14-of-24 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s 120-95 win over the Suns, scoring 33 points with nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, and four 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
Advice: While Edwards was responsible for six of the Timberwolves’ 14 turnovers, he was at his best during the third quarter. Shooting 8-of-11 from the field, he scored 18 of his game-high 33 points in the frame. Edwards needed to up his production, as backcourt partner Mike Conley shot 2-of-12 from the field and finished with four points, three rebounds, and seven assists in 27 minutes. Conley shouldn’t play that poorly in Tuesday’s Game 2, but his production won’t change anything for Edwards, one of the NBA’s best young talents.
