    • Undergoing offseason surgery
Carter will undergo surgery to stabilize the third metacarpal in his left hand, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday. Carter is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Advice: In simpler terms, Carter will have a procedure to fully fix his left hand -- the same hand he sustained a fractured middle finger on early this season -- and is expected to be ready for the 2024-25 campaign. Carter missed a month and a half after sustaining the injury (which required surgery) in November but was able to return and appear in 55 games (48 starts) overall. He's set for re-evaluation four weeks after the procedure. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:44 pm
    • Michael Porter Jr. hits four 3-pointers in Game 3
Michael Porter Jr. recorded a line of 21 points (6-of-10 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 30 minutes in Friday’s Game 3 win over the Timberwolves.

Advice: After scoring 20 points in Game 1, Porter had a brutal Game 2. He wasn’t the only Nuggets player who needed to redeem himself in Game 3, and MPJ came through with timely perimeter shooting. He’s scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven playoff games, and he finished Game 3 one blocked shot shy of his third straight full stat line. Also shooting the ball well from three for Denver was Aaron Gordon, who was 3-of-4 from deep and finished with 13 points, two rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 33 minutes. Given the amount of attention Minnesota has paid Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, there will be opportunities for Porter and Gordon to flourish. They took advantage on Friday and must do the same in Game 4 on Sunday. Rotoworld Friday, 9:18 pm
    • Strong from deep in 21-point Game 3
Porter ended with 21 points (6-10 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal over 30 minutes in Friday's 117-90 win over the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Advice: Porter provided a nice lift offensively for Denver in its first win of the conference semifinals, leading all Nuggets in threes made while ending as one of three players with 20 or more points in Game 3. Porter had a bounce-back performance after failing to reach double figures in scoring in Game 2, and he has now posted 20 or more points in two of the three games against Minnesota. • Not close to full health
Antetokounmpo (calf) disclosed last Friday that he was "not close" to returning to the Bucks lineup before the team was eliminated from the playoffs May 2 in a 120-98 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the first-round series, Jamal Collier of ESPN.com reports. "I did all the tests I had to do, these like protocols you have to follow and have to check the boxes," Antetokounmpo said. "I wasn't even close at checking the boxes."

Advice: Though head coach Doc Rivers had suggested last week that Antetokounmpo was close to being available to play after missing the final three games of the regular season with a left soleus strain, Rivers' comments may have been an act of gamesmanship. Antetokounmpo ultimately missed all six playoff contests, and his absence likely would have extended into the Eastern Conference semifinal round if the Bucks had advanced, as the 29-year-old estimated that he was running at about 30 or 40 percent speed. He should be closer to full health by the end of May, but Antetokounmpo likely won't have a full offseason to rest up, as he had previously expressed a desire to play for the Greek national team in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Greece will have to first earn a spot in the Olympics through a qualification tournament that will take place in the first week of July, so confirmation on whether Antetokounmpo is healthy should come shortly before that time. • Close to double-double in Game 7
Carter produced 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three steals across 35 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 loss to Cleveland in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Advice: Carter started each of Orlando's final five games of the series and scored in double digits in three of those starts, so it's safe to say he was an upgrade over Jonathan Isaac, who started at center in the first two contests. Across his five starts in the series, Carter averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:29 am
    • Wendell Carter Jr. records 13/7/1/3 line Sunday
Wendell Carter Jr. logged 34 minutes in Sunday’s Game 7 loss to the Cavaliers, tallying 13 points (5-of-10 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist, three steals, and two 3-pointers.

Advice: After coming off the bench in the series’ first two games, Carter returned to the starting lineup ahead of Game 3 and remained in that role. Sunday’s series decider was his best game of the seven, with WCJ recording series-highs in points and steals. Beginning the season with a Yahoo ADP of 104.5, Carter’s value was again hampered by injuries. He appeared in 55 games this season and has surpassed six just once in his three full seasons in Orlando. Carter has two seasons remaining on his contract. Still, the injury history makes it difficult to trust him entirely in most fantasy leagues, especially when he failed to crack the top 150 in 8- and 9-cat formats. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:56 pm
    • Leads from deep in 20-point Game 1
Porter finished with 20 points (6-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals across 40 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 loss to Minnesota in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Advice: Porter led all players in Saturday's contest in threes made while ending as one of two Nuggets with 20 or more points and adding a half-dozen rebounds in a losing effort. Porter has surpassed the 20-point mark in five straight playoff contests, connecting on four or more threes in three straight games. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:22 pm
    • Russell Westbrook plays 9 minutes in Game 6 loss
Russell Westbrook shot 2-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line in Friday’s loss to the Mavericks, scoring six points with one rebound, one assist, and one steal in nine minutes.

Advice: In what could be his final game as a Clipper, Westbrook offered little value in Game 6. Tyronn Lue needed more scoring, especially with P.J. Tucker starting, which led to Los Angeles effectively going with a six-man rotation. Westbrook entered the season with a Yahoo ADP of 109.3, a generous placement for a veteran point guard whose role would be limited. Give Russ credit for willingly taking a step back after the Clippers added James Harden, but his days as a consistently relevant fantasy option may have ended. Westbrook has a player option for the 2024-25 season and will be, at best, a late-round pick in deep leagues. Rotoworld Friday, 10:16 pm
    • Won't start Thursday
Beasley is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's Game 6 against the Pacers, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Advice: Beasley will head to the bench with the return of Damian Lillard to the starting lineup. Beasley averaged 19.0 points per game in the two starts he has made in the series against the Pacers. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:14 pm
