    • Traded to Detroit
The Timberwolves traded Moore and the No. 37 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to the Pistons on Thursday in exchange for the No. 53 pick, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Moore wasn't a major part of the Timberwolves' rotation last year, but he was productive in the G League, averaging 19.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 35.2 minutes per game over eight regular-season appearances with the Iowa Wolves. He'll likely play a similar role in Detroit. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:17 am
    • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope might not be back in FA
In a recent interview with Ryan Blackburn of Mile High Sports, Nuggets GM Calvin Booth alluded to a potential Kentavious Caldwell-Pope free agency departure.

Advice: Booth said, “Yeah, I think you have to look at everything and the nature of free agency is that he’s unrestricted. So we can try to bring him back and if he doesn’t want to come back or opts to go somewhere else, that’s his prerogative so we’ll have to work with that.” That comment is innocuous, but his final word on the matter speaks to the possibility of KCP departing in free agency. According to Booth, “It would be nice if he’s back, we’d have a lot of continuity together, but all the stuff I’ve looked at with lineup stuff and everything, Christian Braun is one of the best net rating guys in the league — as is KCP. So I think if he’s to step into the starting lineup, I would project that we’ll be OK if KCP doesn’t return.” If Caldwell-Pope doesn’t return to the Nuggets next season, Braun is an intriguing late-round pick. He’s played well in limited minutes, and a starting role would do wonders for his fantasy value. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:39 am
    • Undergoes toe procedure
The Knicks announced Thursday that McBride underwent a procedure of the pinky toe on his right foot earlier this week, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The team didn't provide an official timeline for McBride's recovery, but he's expected to resume full basketball activities later in the summer, which puts him on track to be ready to go for the start of training camp in the fall. During his third NBA season in 2023-24, McBride struggled to find consistent playing time early in the campaign when the Knicks were in better health, but he took on a sizable role as injuries began to pile up over the course of the season. After the All-Star break, McBride appeared in 39 of the Knicks' 40 games (including playoffs) and averaged 11.7 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 three-pointers in 29.6 minutes per contest. Though he excelled in a supporting role when given major minutes, McBride will likely see a stark drop in playing time in 2024-25 with the Knicks having acquired Mikal Bridges and re-signed OG Anunoby (hamstring) this offseason. • Progressing well
Ball (knee) has been cleared to do "pretty much everything on the floor" and is on track to participate in 5-on-5 drills in August, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas provided an update on Ball's status after the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft and was optimistic Ball could be ready in time for training camp. Ball hasn't played since January of 2022 due to left knee issues that have required three surgeries, but he's been taking part in basketball activities and could be healthy enough to play in the 2024-25 season. The 26-year-old picked up his $21.4 million player option for the upcoming season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:39 pm
    • Wants to remain in NBA
Contrary to a previous report, Vezenkov said he will honor his contract with the Kings and wants to stay in the NBA, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Advice: Cunningham adds that the report which stated that Vezenkov will not return to the Kings is "off base". The Kings reportedly want to keep the sharpshooter, but there is a market for him and it's no secret that the forward would like a larger role in the rotation. In his first NBA campaign, Vezenkov posted averages of 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds across 12.2 minutes in 42 appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:28 am
    • Headed to Brooklyn
The Knicks traded Bogdanovic (foot/wrist) to the Nets along with four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via the Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-round pick in exchange for Mikal Bridges on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Bogdanovic will head to Brooklyn after being traded from the Pistons to the Knicks in 2023-24. The veteran forward saw his production decrease after coming to New York as a bench option, averaging 10.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in 19.2 minutes across 29 regular-season appearances. Bogdanovic underwent surgery on his left wrist and was reported to need left foot surgery after the Knicks' postseason exit, but he is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. In Brooklyn, the 34-year-old forward will likely compete for a starting forward spot alongside Cameron Johnson (toe) and could return to his previous average of nearly 20 points per game. • Woj: Nets acquire Bojan Bogdanovic, draft picks
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets have acquired Bojan Bogdanovic and multiple draft picks from the Knicks in exchange for Mikal Bridges.

Advice: Bogdanovic’s salary for 2024-25 was not fully guaranteed before this deal; that would likely have to change to make the trade work. More critical for Brooklyn is the draft capital they’ve received: four unprotected first-round picks from the Knicks (2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031), another 2025 first-rounder via Milwaukee (top-4 protected), and an unprotected first-round pick swap. In addition to Bridges, the Knicks will receive a 2026 second-round pick. Restocking the coffers was essential for lead executive Sean Marks, given the picks that Brooklyn surrendered in prior deals. As for Bogdanovic, while he’s been effective in the past as a starter, he’ll be coming off of foot and wrist surgeries when next season begins. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:17 pm
    • Waived by Raptors
Gueye (thumb) was waived by the Raptors on Tuesday, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.

Advice: Gueye joined the Raptors on a two-way deal late into the 2023-24 season, but he made just 11 appearances before suffering a sprained right thumb to end his campaign. In those 11 appearances, Gueye averaged 2.4 points and 2.1 rebounds. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:49 am
    • Picks up player option
Jackson picked up his $5.25 million player option Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Advice: Jackson is set to reprise his role as the primary backup point guard behind Jamal Murray for the upcoming season. Jackson was a reliable presence in the backcourt for Denver in 2023-24, posting averages of 10.2 points, 3.8 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers across 82 appearances.
