• Stein: DET possible option for Tim Hardaway Jr.
According to Marc Stein, Detroit has emerged as a “potential trade destination” for Tim Hardaway Jr.

Advice: A fixture in the Mavericks’ bench rotation throughout the regular season, Hardaway did not see much action as Dallas made its run to the NBA Finals. With one year remaining on his contract and the Mavericks needing to free up money to re-sign Derrick Jones Jr., it makes sense that THJ would be the subject of trade rumors. And based on comments made on social media by his father (which have since been deleted), it appears Hardaway is ready to move on, provided he has a more significant role at his next stop. During his introductory press conference, Pistons lead executive Trajan Langdon said he’s open to using the team’s cap space to take on contracts, provided future draft assets are attached. • Stein: Magic, 76ers targeting Caldwell-Pope
The Magic and 76ers are considering making runs at Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency, per Marc Stein.

Advice: KCP has won two of the last five championships as part of different squads while providing value on both ends of the value. He should make a huge impact on either the 76ers or Magic as both teams are ready to contend and could use a 3-and-D starter at shooting guard. KCP has been an incredibly impactful starter for the Nuggets the last couple of seasons, which could earn him a big raise if he moves to the East. Rotoworld Sunday, 11:34 am
  • Will be cleared in near future
Morant (shoulder) said Saturday he will be medically cleared for basketball activities in about two weeks, CBSSports.com reports.

Advice: Morant played only nine games last year due to a 25-game suspension and a major shoulder injury. He averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals across 35.3 minutes. The All-Star had successful surgery on his right shoulder in mid-January and will be able to practice soon, meaning he should be 100 percent for next season's training camp. Morant hopes to take the Grizzlies back to the playoffs after a year ruined by injuries saw them finish with a 27-55 record. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:19 am
