    Advice: Lively was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, outplaying Daniel Gafford despite coming off the bench. The Mavericks have the luxury of being able to lean on both players equally, providing them flexibility when one is outplaying the other.     Dereck Lively II shot 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Wednesday’s 123-93 win over the Clippers, finishing with 12 points, even rebounds, one assist, and one blocked shot in 25 minutes.

    Advice: Lively did not miss a shot in Dallas’ Game 5 rout, with that production being a byproduct of where he got his looks. Four of the rookie’s five makes from the field were dunks, with the fifth being a nine-footer. While there have been some injury-related hiccups, the tandem of Lively and Daniel Gafford (8/5/0/1/1 in 19 minutes) has been just what the doctor ordered for the Mavericks.   • Jaime Jaquez Jr. (hip) out for Game 5 on Wednesday
    Jaime Jaquez Jr. (right hip flexor strain) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

    Advice: Already playing without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, the last thing Miami needed was another injury. Jaquez injured his hip during Monday’s Game 4 defeat, limiting the rookie to 22 minutes. He will not play in what could be the Heat’s final game of the season, with Jaquez’s absence freeing up a spot in the starting lineup. Delon Wright, Haywood Highsmith, and Duncan Robinson (who’s dealing with left facet syndrome) are all available to absorb the minutes that would usually go to Jaquez.     Jaquez has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Celtics due to a hip flexor strain, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

    Advice: Jaquez initially went to the locker room during the first half of Game 4 after experiencing tightness in his hip but quickly returned to action. However, he was sidelined for the entire fourth quarter and finished with only nine points and two boards in 22 minutes. With Jaquez joining Terry Rozier (neck) and Jimmy Butler (knee) on the sidelines for the potential elimination game, Delon Wright, Patty Mills, Haywood Highsmith, Kevin Love and Duncan Robinson are candidates for increased roles.     Advice: Jaquez said that he “felt something give” while going up for a rebound. Erik Spoelstra said that they will find out more on Tuesday, so hopefully there will be a clearer indication of his status for Game 5 on Wednesday. Miami has been playing without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, so losing Jaquez Jr. would likely mean more minutes for Delon Wright and Haywood Highsmith. #HeatCulture isn’t going down without a fight, but if they’re down another starter, it will be difficult for them to extend the series in Boston.     Advice: Jaquez went to the locker room during the first half to be evaluated and quickly returned to the game, but he was ultimately held out of the fourth quarter due to tightness. "Just my right hip. Felt something give at the beginning of the second quarter going up for a rebound," said Jaquez after the game, per Wes Goldberg of the Locked On Podcast Network.     Advice: Wallace continued to be a pest on the defensive end of the floor, racking up three steals in the blowout victory. Despite coming off the bench, Wallace has been an impactful player for the Thunder, often used in situations for which defense is key.     Advice: Lively only played nine minutes in Game 2 and ended up missing practice on Thursday because of some soreness in his lower back. However, he was able to play in Game 3, and he was able to make an impact off the bench. He scored all 13 of his points in the first half, which included five dunks.     Advice: Daniel Gafford started this game, but he was ineffective in just nine minutes of action and left the game briefly due to a back injury. Lively had more success, obviously, but he didn't get a ton of burn either, as Maxi Kleber and P.J. Washington soaked up the bulk of the frontcourt minutes.
