      Wembanyama (ankle) was named the 2023-24 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Wembanyama was the clear favorite for this year's Rookie of the Year honors, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.6 blocks in 29.7 minutes per appearance over 71 games during his first NBA campaign. It's also worth noting that the 7-foot-4 center is one of three finalists for the 2023-24 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award, which speaks to the monumental impact he had on both ends of the court this season for the Spurs.     • Shocker: Victor Wembanyama wins Rookie of the Year
      Victor Wembanyama has been named the 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year.

      Advice: While there was some suspense earlier in the season while Wembanyama was dealing with an ankle injury, the Spurs sensation took the league by storm once healthy and not playing under any restrictions. Wemby became the first player in NBA history to amass at least 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, 250 assists, 250 blocks, and 100 3-pointers. He became the first unanimous winner of the award since Karl-Anthony Towns in 2016, with Oklahoma City’s Chet Holmgren finishing second. Rounding out the top five were Brandon Miller (Charlotte), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (Miami), and Brandin Podziemski (Golden State). Wembanyama is also the first player from France to win the award.     • Double-doubles in playoff exit
      Zubac produced 17 points (6-11 FG, 5-8 FT), 11 rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes during Friday's 114-101 loss to the Mavericks in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

      Advice: The Clippers needed someone to step up with Kawhi Leonard (knee) sidelined in Game 6, and Ivica Zubac did what he could on both ends of the court. He finished the series with three double-doubles in six outings and scored in double digits each time while shooting a robust 60 percent from the field. Zubac isn't flashy and is not one of the most athletic big men in the league, but he gets the job done. He averaged 11.7 points and 9.2 boards per contest during the regular season.     • Ivica Zubac finishes with 17 points, 11 boards
      Ivica Zubac logged 37 minutes in Friday’s Game 6 loss to the Mavericks, accumulating 17 points (6-of-11 FGs, 5-of-8 FTs), 11 rebounds, and one assist.

      Advice: After recording double-doubles in the series’ first two games, Zubac did not get another until the finale on Friday. However, he did score in double figures in all six games, providing consistent production in that regard. While Zubac does not rank among the elite fantasy centers, he once again provided solid value in 2023-24. Exceeding his Yahoo ADP (120.2) in 8- and 9-cat formats, Big Zu finished the regular season as a top 100 player in the latter. Regardless of what happens with James Harden and Paul George this summer, Zubac will remain the unquestioned top option at the center position.     • Brook Lopez finishes season with 20-point night
      Brook Lopez logged 31 minutes in Thursday’s 120-98 loss to the Pacers, accounting for 20 points (7-of-12 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), five rebounds, and one assist.

      Advice: While Lopez thoroughly outplayed Myles Turner in Game 6, it didn’t matter because Indiana had a far superior bench. The veteran center shot 50% or better from the field in all six games, scoring at least 20 points in three. To say this was a brutal ending for a team with championship ambitions would be an understatement. Lopez isn’t a “sexy” fantasy target, based on his Yahoo ADP of 69.7, but he once again exceeded expectations. The veteran center finished the regular season as a top 50 player in 9-cat formats while sitting just outside the top 60 in 8-cat. He’ll likely come off the board in the 6th round of standard league drafts, but Lopez is a relatively safe bet to exceed that. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:06 pm
       
    • Ivica Zubac posts 15/6/2/1 line in Game 5 loss
      Ivica Zubac tallied 15 points (7-of-8 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 26 minutes in Wednesday’s 123-93 loss to the Mavericks.

      Advice: While he has reached double figures in points in all five games, Zubac’s influence on the boards has waned since Games 1 and 2. Having grabbed 27 rebounds in those contests, he produced 18 in Games 3 through 5. Add in Dallas’ ability to exploit the Clippers’ defensively in the two-man game, with Dereck Lively II receiving multiple lobs in Game 5, and this wasn’t as good a night for Zubac as the shooting accuracy would lead some to believe. Essentially, it’s known what Big Zu will bring to the table nightly, even if he isn’t going to bring elite production to the table. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:32 pm

      Valanciunas supplied 19 points (6-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist and one steal across 26 minutes during Monday's 97-89 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

      Advice: Valanciunas finished second on his team in scoring and put together a valiant effort on the glass, marking his second double-double of the first round. However, his production wasn't enough to avoid a series sweep as the Thunder were simply too much to handle without the help of Zion Williamson (hamstring). Rotowire.com Monday, 9:06 pm

      Jonas Valanciunas recorded a double-double in Game 4 on Monday with 19 points (6-of-15 FGs), 13 rebounds, one assist and one steal against the Thunder.

      Advice: After only playing 12 minutes in their last game, with Willie Green opting to use a smaller lineup, JV was back to his usual minutes in this one. He wasn’t quite as dominant on the glass as he was in Game 1, but he was still able to haul in a game-high 13 boards. After a strong run of fantasy success, JV’s minutes have dipped over the last two seasons, which has limited his fantasy impact. He is still a beast on the boards, but it is difficult for him to contribute much else in 23.4 minutes per game, which was his role this season. Rotoworld Monday, 9:02 pm
       
    • Brook Lopez leads Bucks with 27 points in loss
      Brook Lopez put up 27 points, nine rebounds, an assist, a block and three triples across 39 minutes in Sunday’s loss to Indiana.

      Advice: BroLo scored more points than 27 only twice in the regular season, and both games came way back in November. Sunday’s performance was certainly a rarity in the scoring department, but Lopez was forced to handle a colossal workload thanks to the absences of Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo and the early ejection of Big Bobby Portis. Lopez has scored at least 20 points in two of the Bucks’ last three games, and he’ll be asked to pick it up on offense Tuesday if Milwaukee’s stars are once again sidelined. Rotoworld Apr 28, 7:47 pm
