    • Will return to Portland
The Trail Blazers picked up Banton's $2.2 million team option Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Banton will return to Portland after being acquired by the team via trade from the Celtics on Feb. 8. The 24-year-old balled out in his time with the Blazers, during which he averaged 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.9 steals over 30 regular-season games. Banton could be in for a significant role on a rebuilding team, especially if the Trail Blazers trade away any of their veteran players. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago
    • Pistons extend qualifying offer
The Pistons extended a qualifying offer to Fontecchio (toe) on Saturday, and he will become a restricted free agent, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Fontecchio has said in the past that there is mutual interest in a return to Detroit; however, he could be swayed to leave if the price is right. The 28-year-old was acquired by the Pistons via trade with the Jazz last season, and he averaged 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 30.2 minutes, starting in nine of 16 games for Detroit. • Magic decline team option
The Magic declined Ingles' $11 million team option on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Ingles will be entering his eleventh season this year, and the veteran has bounced around while playing for three different teams in three years. The Magic are expected to negotiate a new deal with the 36-year-old in free agency, but he is now able to go anywhere he chooses without restriction. Ingles averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 0.6 steals across 68 regular-season games last season. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
    • Lakers extend qualifying offer
The Lakers have tendered a qualifying offer to Christie on Saturday, and he will become a restricted free agent, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Christie is expected to be one of the more sought after young guards in free agency this offseason, and he could be stolen away from the Lakers if the price is right. The 21-year-old appeared in 67 regular-season games for the team, during which he averaged 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 14.1 minutes per game. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago
    • Expected to enter free agency
The Clippers are not expected to tender a qualifying offer for Boston, making him an unrestricted free agent, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Boston was selected with pick No. 51 in the 2021 draft, and he averaged career-highs in every major statistical category his rookie season. However, the past two years the 22-year-old was much less of a factor for the team, and he averaged 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 0.3 steals across 10.8 minutes in 32 regular-season games. Boston is still young, and he will likely garner interest as a player who has potential moving forward. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago
    • Woj: LAC will not tender QO to Brandon Boston Jr.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers will not tender Brandon Boston Jr. a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: Boston, the 51st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, played a limited role during his three seasons with the Clippers. His minutes per game average decreased each season, with the athletic wing playing 10.8 minutes in 32 appearances last season. Boston’s exit will not significantly impact the Clippers’ rotation or fantasy basketball leagues. Rotoworld Today, 6:55 am
    • Not retained by Orlando
The Magic declined to extend Harris a $1.87 million qualifying offer Friday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.

Advice: Harris spent the past two seasons in Orlando after striking a two-year, two-way deal with the Magic in the summer of 2022. He appeared in 34 games for the Magic in 2022-23, but with the club becoming more competitive in 2023-24 and reaching the playoffs, Harris was often inactive and saw action in just two contests at the NBA level. Harris was solid at G League level with the Osceola Magic in 2023-24 -- he averaged 16.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.0 steals in 28.8 minutes per game while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range over 27 appearances -- but since he already turned 27 years old earlier this month, it's unlikely that another organization will view him as a development piece worthy of a two-way spot during the upcoming season. • Ticketed for free agency
Quinones will become an unrestricted free agent after the Warriors declined Friday to extend him a $2.29 million qualifying offer, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Quinones had spent the better part of the last two seasons as a two-way player for the Warriors, but Golden State upgraded him to a one-year, standard NBA contract in February. While Quinones was eligible to compete in the postseason as a result of the adjustment to his contract, it put him in line for a bump in pay in 2024-25, and the Warriors apparently weren't willing to keep him around on a $2.29 million salary. Quinones averaged only 4.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 three-pointers in 10.6 minutes per game while shooting just 39.7 percent from the field over his 37 appearances for Golden State in 2023-24, but he was a top-notch performer at the G League level the past two seasons and demonstrated impressive positional versatility. Golden State could still look to bring him back on another two-way deal or on a non-guaranteed contract, but Quinones will first canvas the open market and see if he can find a better opportunity elsewhere. • Bound for free agency
The Nuggets are declining to extend Gillespie (knee) a $1.87 million qualifying offer prior to Saturday's deadline, making him an unrestricted free agent, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Along with Gillespie, the Nuggets also opted not to extend a qualifying offer to fellow two-way player Braxton Key, opening up a pair of two-way slots for undrafted rookies Trey Alexander and PJ Hall. Gillespie had served as a two-way player for the Nuggets for both of the past two seasons, though he didn't appear in the NBA or in the G League during his first professional campaign in 2022-23 while he recovered from surgery to repair a fractured right leg. Gillespie proceeded to make 24 appearance for the Nuggets in 2023-24, averaging 3.6 points, 1.1 assists and 0.9 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per contest. He missed the Nuggets' final game of the regular season due to a left knee sprain and then was ineligible for Denver's postseason run because of his status as a two-way player, but the expectation is that Gillespie will be back to full health for the start of NBA training camps in the fall.
