    • Woj: HOU to pick up Jae’Sean Tate’s player option
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets are picking up Jae’Sean Tate’s player option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Tate, who appeared in 65 games last season, will make approximately $7.6 million in 2024-25. The versatile forward averaged 4.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals in 15.2 minutes, with his production and playing time decreasing due to the arrivals of Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson. And this was with Tari Eason missing most of the season with a leg injury. A healthy Eason in the rotation lowers Tate’s fantasy ceiling even more. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
    • Woj: Magic to decline Joe Ingles’ player option
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic are declining Joe Ingles’ $11 million team option for next season, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: While Ingles will be an unrestricted free agent when free agency opens on Sunday evening, this does not mean his time in Orlando is over. According to Wojnarowski, the two sides will continue to have dialogue on a potential agreement. Ingles appeared in 68 games during his first season with the Magic, averaging 4.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 3-pointers in 17.2 minutes. Given the presence of Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner, Ingles’ fantasy impact was muted last season. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
    • Pistons extend qualifying offer
The Pistons extended a qualifying offer to Fontecchio (toe) on Saturday, and he will become a restricted free agent, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Fontecchio has said in the past that there is mutual interest in a return to Detroit; however, he could be swayed to leave if the price is right. The 28-year-old was acquired by the Pistons via trade with the Jazz last season, and he averaged 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 30.2 minutes, starting in nine of 16 games for Detroit. • Magic decline team option
The Magic declined Ingles' $11 million team option on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Ingles will be entering his eleventh season this year, and the veteran has bounced around while playing for three different teams in three years. The Magic are expected to negotiate a new deal with the 36-year-old in free agency, but he is now able to go anywhere he chooses without restriction. Ingles averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 0.6 steals across 68 regular-season games last season. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago
    • Lakers extend qualifying offer
The Lakers have tendered a qualifying offer to Christie on Saturday, and he will become a restricted free agent, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Christie is expected to be one of the more sought after young guards in free agency this offseason, and he could be stolen away from the Lakers if the price is right. The 21-year-old appeared in 67 regular-season games for the team, during which he averaged 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 14.1 minutes per game. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 am
    • Expected to enter free agency
The Clippers are not expected to tender a qualifying offer for Boston, making him an unrestricted free agent, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Boston was selected with pick No. 51 in the 2021 draft, and he averaged career-highs in every major statistical category his rookie season. However, the past two years the 22-year-old was much less of a factor for the team, and he averaged 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 0.3 steals across 10.8 minutes in 32 regular-season games. Boston is still young, and he will likely garner interest as a player who has potential moving forward. Rotowire.com Today, 7:10 am
    • Woj: LAC will not tender QO to Brandon Boston Jr.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers will not tender Brandon Boston Jr. a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: Boston, the 51st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, played a limited role during his three seasons with the Clippers. His minutes per game average decreased each season, with the athletic wing playing 10.8 minutes in 32 appearances last season. Boston’s exit will not significantly impact the Clippers’ rotation or fantasy basketball leagues. Rotoworld Today, 6:55 am
    • On way out of Denver
The Nuggets are declining to extend Key a $1.87 million qualifying offer prior to Saturday's deadline, making him an unrestricted free agent, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Along with Key, the Nuggets also opted not to extend a qualifying offer to fellow two-way player Collin Gillespie, opening up a pair of two-way slots for undrafted rookies Trey Alexander and PJ Hall. In his third professional season in 2023-24, Key appeared in 20 games for the Nuggets and averaged 1.1 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 3.0 minutes per contest, with most of his limited opportunities coming in garbage-time scenarios. • Heading for free agency
Cain will become an unrestricted free agent after the Heat declined to extend him a $2.09 million qualifying offer Friday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Advice: The Heat extended qualifying offers for fellow two-way players Alondes Williams and Cole Swider but elected not to do the same for Cain, who recently wrapped up his second season on a two-way deal. The 25-year-old forward logged just 44 appearances over the last two seasons with Miami, but he was a standout performer for the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2023-24, averaging 23.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.2 steals, 1.6 three-pointers and 1.1 blocks in 39.1 minutes over 15 appearances. If the Heat don't elect to re-sign Cain, he shouldn't have much trouble finding an opportunity elsewhere on a two-way deal or a non-guaranteed contract. Rotowire.com Today, 5:37 am
