  • Jaylen Brown drops 32 points in Game 1 blowout win
    Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 32 points (12-of-18 FGs), six rebounds, two assists, one block and four 3-pointers in a 120-95 win over Cleveland in Game 1 on Tuesday.

    Advice: After only having one 30-point game in round one and scoring less than 20 points twice, Brown got off to a much better start in this series. He took over early in this game and scored 15 points in the first quarter, though they didn’t fully take control of this game until after that. Despite an off-night from Jayson Tatum (18 points on 7-of-19 FGs), the Celtics were still able to get a big win to open up the series.   • Pascal Siakam posts 19/6/5/1 line in Game 1 loss
    Pascal Siakam amassed 19 points (8-of-16 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes in Monday’s loss to the Knicks.

    Advice: Siakam has scored 19 points in his last two postseason games, appearing to turn the corner after going quiet in Games 3 through 5 of Indiana’s first-round series with Milwaukee. While all teams deal with injuries to a certain extent this time of year, it’s clear that Tyrese Haliburton’s back is still causing him trouble. As a result, the Pacers will need more production from Siakam and Myles Turner, and they combined to score 42 points in Game 1. Indiana will look to even the series at one game apiece on Wednesday.   • Goes for 25 points in Game 5 win
    Brown finished Wednesday's 118-84 victory over Miami in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 25 points (11-19 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-5 FT), six rebounds and two assists over 26 minutes.

    Advice: Brown was one of two Boston players who reached the 25-point mark Wednesday, with Derrick White being the other, but he didn't do much outside of scoring. Brown scored 20-plus points in three of the five outings in the series against the Heat, and he should continue to play a prominent role on offense in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, regardless of the opponent, especially if Kristaps Porzingis (calf) remains sidelined for a prolonged stretch.   • Jaylen Brown finishes series with 25-point effort
    Jaylen Brown logged 26 minutes in Wednesday’s 118-184 win over the Heat, amassing 25 points (11-of-19 FGs, 2-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, and one 3-pointer.

    Advice: Brown recorded a solid point total, shooting well over 50% from the field, but efficiency remains problematic in other areas. In addition to committing five turnovers in the series decider, he shot 40% from the foul line. For the series, Brown was 9-of-20 (45%) from the charity stripe, which will not get it done against stronger opposition. Add in 16 turnovers in the five-game series, and Brown has some things to clean up before the second round begins.   • Josh Giddey knocks down four more triples vs. NOR
    Josh Giddey lit up the Pelicans with 14 points (5-of-10 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one block and four triples on Monday.

    Advice: Giddey’s shot has been a weakness for the team’s offense all year, but he has improved drastically over the course of the season. He may have peaked during Games 3 and 4, as he knocked down four 3-pointers in each to help the Thunder complete the sweep and advance to the second round. His season-high of five 3-pointers also came in New Orleans, so he seems to really enjoy shooting on these rims. Unfortunately, he’ll have to adjust to shooting in either Dallas or Los Angeles, depending on the results of that series. Rotoworld Monday, 8:38 pm
     
  • Pascal Siakam scores 13 on 14 FG, but Pacers win
    Pascal Siakam finished Sunday’s win over Milwaukee with 13 points (6-of-14 FG, 0-of-4 3-Pointers), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block across 40 minutes.

    Advice: Siakam was monstrous on offense in Games 1 and 2, combining for 73 points on 31-of-48 shooting. In Games 3 and 4, however, his scoring regressed, and he totaled just 30 points on 13-of-31 shooting. Siakam’s poor showing on offense was buoyed by the duo of Myles Turner and Tyrese Haliburton, who combined for 53 points and 12 triples on 18-of-33 shooting. Despite his woes as a shooter, Spicy P was still able to make an impact thanks to his rebounding, playmaking and defense.   • Well-rounded showing in Game 4
    Siakam notched 13 points (6-14 FG< 0-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block over 40 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 win over the Bucks in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

    Advice: Siakam has been outstanding for Indiana all series against Milwaukee, posting a well-rounded performance in Sunday's Game 4 while helping the Pacers take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Siakam struggled shooting a bit from the field, but he still reached double figures in scoring while ending one rebound and three assists short of a triple-double. Siakam has tallied at least 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists in two games this series, and we should expect him to continue to shine for Indiana in a potential series-clinching Game 5 in Milwaukee.
